DC Comics Set to Release Superhero Comic Book Starring a Bungling Jesus Christ
January 10, 2019 — Breitbart.com reports: “DC Comics drew critical praise for its series of short-run books that re-imagine classic characters and coming up soon, the company is set to release a new book featuring an out-of-touch, bungling Jesus Christ in the lead.
The planned Vertigo imprint series will join previous re-imaginings such as the series about the 60s cartoon hit The Flintstones and a redux of the cartoon character Snagglepuss, both of which are stuffed with left-wing social justice warrior plots. Snagglepuss, for instance, was turned into a gay thespian, and The Flintstones featured socialist workers plots.
In the new comic, written by Mark Russell, Jesus Christ will be portrayed as an out-of-touch former savior who is cast out of his prison in heaven and back down to earth because God the Father felt that Christ messed up his first visit with mankind, Newsbusters reported.
The book is to be called Second Coming and will
feature Jesus living in an apartment with a superhero named Sun-Man. Russell
described the superhero as ‘the varsity quarterback son God never had.’…” (I
wonder if DC Comics would ever release a book mocking Muhammad or Allah? Probably not.
One has to just look at Salman Rushdie to know how that would turn out. Because of his book The Satanic Verses Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a fatwa
calling for his assassination. Do we as
Christians need to call for a fatwa on DC Comics? No, they, and all who reject God will answer
to Him: “God is jealous, and the Lord
revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on
his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The Lord is slow to anger, and great in
power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the
whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and
drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of
Lebanon languisheth. The mountains quake
at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the
world, and all that dwell therein. Who
can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his
anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by
him. The Lord is good, a strong hold in
the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. But with an
overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness
shall pursue his enemies” – Nahum 1:2-8.)
Holy war erupts over Jesus ‘physically’ rising from dead
January 14, 2019 — WND.com reports: “When Jesus rose from the dead, was it a physical resurrection of His body, or was He transformed into a spiritual body?
That question has sparked a serious dispute in the Church of England, and the archbishop of Canterbury is now being pressured to force his new representative to Rome to resign.
That representative is Rev. Dr. John Shepherd of Perth, Australia, whose remarks from 2008 have surfaced, creating the uproar.
‘We need to challenge the belief that the resurrection of Jesus from the dead was a physical resurrection,’ Shepherd says on video.
‘It would be wrong to demand an interpretation of the
resurrection which includes the physical resuscitation of Jesus’ body when the
accounts in the New Testament refer to the resurrection of the body transformed
by the Spirit of God.’…” (“Now
if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that
there is no resurrection of the dead?
But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our
preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified
of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead
rise not. For if the dead rise not, then
is not Christ raised: And if Christ be
not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in
Christ are perished. If in this life
only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and
become the firstfruits of them that slept.
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the
dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in
Christ shall all be made alive. But
every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are
Christ’s at his coming” – I Corinthians 15:12-23.)
Persecution of Christians is ‘set to rise’ in 2019
January 2, 2019 — ChristianToday.com reports: “Release International has warned that the persecution of Christians worldwide is set to rise in 2019.
The charity has welcomed a review of Christian persecution ordered by Britain’s foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt and led by the Bishop of Truro, Philip Mounstephen. Its chief executive Paul Robinson said there was a ‘worrying upward trend’ in persecution and backed calls for the UK to do more to ‘support the suffering church worldwide’.
Release said its partners support the view that persecution is rising and have warned the trend will continue into 2019. Among the countries it names as of particular concern for 2019 are Nigeria, India and China.
In Nigeria Fulani militants are set to continue devastating attacks against Christians in the north and centre of the country. In the first six months of 2018 alone, they killed up to 6,000 people and drove 50,000 from their homes.
A Release partner said: ‘The escalation in killing is very
clear. There is a deliberate plan to destroy and take over the predominantly
Christian communities in the region.’…” (“If
the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love
his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the
world, therefore the world hateth you.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than
his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they
have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because
they know not him that sent me. If I had
not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak
for their sin. He that hateth me hateth
my Father also. If I had not done among
them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have
they both seen and hated both me and my Father” – John 15:18-24.
Report: 245 Million Christians Facing ‘Extreme’ Persecution Worldwide
January 17, 2019 — Breitbart.com reports: “North Korea remains at the top of a list of 50 countries where at least 245 million Christians are facing ‘extreme persecution’ this year, up 14 percent from 215 million at the beginning of 2018, the World Wide Watch List (WWL) released on Wednesday by Open Doors, a group that monitors the mistreatment of Christ followers, revealed.
At the Heritage Foundation, David Curry, the president and CEO of Open Doors, unveiled the 2019 WWL that ranks the top 50 ‘most dangerous’ countries to follow Jesus, noting that women are especially targeted.
‘The Open Doors World Watch List which you will see today is the most comprehensive grassroots study of what is happening around the world to restrict religious freedom, particularly for Christians,’ he explained, adding ‘The data proves conclusively that Christian women are the most exploited group on the face of the earth.’
Curry highlighted several trends that are currently fueling the mistreatment of Christians, including the rise of authoritarianism and spread of radical Islam, particularly into sub-Saharan Africa.
‘Radical Islam is the driver behind eight of the top 10 on the World Watch List this year, four of which are from Africa,’ the Open Doors chief proclaimed.
‘Africa is now a major epicenter of violence against
Christians,’ he observed…” (“Fear none of those things which thou shalt
suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be
tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and
I will give thee a crown of life.” – Revelation 2:10.)
Jesus as Son of God? Muslims now claim Christian beliefs ‘mock Islam’
January 1, 2019 — WND.com reports: “A Christian commentator isn’t saying, ‘I told you so.’
But he could.
With the most recent developments in Uganda, where, according to a Washington Times report, Muslims are now considering ‘any public statement of the Christian faith,’ to be an insult to Muslims.
And then they believe they can ‘justifiably exact revenge.’
Including violent attacks against Christians making statements about their faith.
It is commentator Robert Spencer who has written at FrontPageMag that the Times report explains the ‘extraordinary revelation.’
‘Muslims now consider any public statement of the Christian faith to be a calculated insult to Muslims, for which they can justifiably exact revenge,’ he said. ‘This is, or should be, sobering news for the comfortable Christians of the West who have made an idol out of ‘interfaith dialogue’ and fastidiously avoid saying anything remotely critical about Islam, even as the Muslim persecution of Christians continues worldwide.’…” (Islam’s goal is global domination. Islamic leaders Ayatollah Khomeini, Khamenei, and Kabbala, all warn that Islam will take over the world and that their prophet Jesus, called Isa, will be the chief executioner of all who will not convert to Islam under the rule of their messiah Mahdi. Shariah Law demands that all Islamic apostates who deviate from any point of Islam’s law be executed by crucifixion [Surah 5:33] or beheading [Surah 47:4]. This is not only for Islamic defectors but all Christians as well.)
