PA Mufti: Al-Aqsa belongs only to Muslims

March 13, 2019  — Israel National News reports: “Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Al-Quds and ‘Palestine’ and a preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, said Tuesday that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a Muslim right since it is an Islamic mosque, adding that Muslims have the right to practice in it without the intervention of any party.

‘We will act against any Israeli move against the Al-Aqsa Mosque because the Al-Aqsa Mosque belongs to Muslims only,’ Sheikh Hussein said in an official statement to the Filastin al-Yawm website.

Sheikh Hussein regularly threatens Israel, having last year warned about the repeated ‘break-ins’ of ‘settlers’ to the area of ​​the Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by Israeli security.

Hussein declared at the time that attempts to break into the Al-Aqsa Mosque would not change the Arab and Islamic character of Jerusalem.

 The Quran also mentions the city of Yathrib [Medina], where the Prophet Mohammed emigrated after he was persecuted in Mecca, and the location of his grave and the Prophet’s Mosque…”

PA: Israel has no authority on Temple Mount

March 18, 2019  — Israel National News reports: “Adnan al-Husayni, the Palestinian Authority (PA) official in charge of Jerusalem affairs, on Sunday described the Israeli court’s decision ordering the closure of the Golden Gate on the Temple Mount ‘void, invalid and worthless.’

In a statement, Husayni said in response to the court’s decision that non-Muslims have no authority to make decisions regarding the Temple Mount, and that only the Waqf has this authority.

‘The decision was made as part of the election campaign in Israel and within the framework of the aspirations of extremist Israeli elements in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and therefore it carries many dangers,’ he wrote. ‘The Al-Aqsa Mosque and its area of ​​144 dunams belongs exclusively to Muslims, and an Israeli law or court have no authority over it.’

Husayni added that the Israeli court’s decision was ‘a recipe for a religious war that the right-wing Israeli elements are pushing towards, because no Muslim will agree to an aggressive and dangerous decision that has been made as part of a long series of Israeli attacks against the mosque.’…”

Jerusalem court orders closure of disputed building on Temple Mount

March 17, 2019  — The Times of Israel reports: “A Jerusalem court on Sunday ordered the temporary closure of a building at the center of rising tensions on the city’s Temple Mount in recent weeks.

The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court said the building known as the Gate of Mercy or Golden Gate on the Temple Mount should be closed while legal proceedings continue.

The site’s administrator, the Waqf religious organization, was given 60 days to respond.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry rapped the decision, arguing that the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court did not even have the authority to rule on matters pertaining to the Temple Mount because it is ‘occupied territory.’

‘East Jerusalem, which includes the Al-Aqsa Mosqua, is part of the Palestinian lands occupied since 1967. The area is not subject to Israeli law,’ Amman said in a statement…”
