Chinese economy to overtake US ‘by 2028’ due to Covid

December 26, 2020  — BBC.com reports: “China will overtake the US to become the world’s largest economy by 2028, five years earlier than previously forecast, a report says.

The UK-based Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) said China’s ‘skillful’ management of Covid-19 would boost its relative growth compared to the US and Europe in coming years.

Meanwhile India is tipped to become the third largest economy by 2030.

The CEBR releases its economic league table every year on 26 December.

Although China was the first country hit by Covid-19, it controlled the disease through swift and extremely strict action, meaning it did not need to repeat economically paralysing lockdowns as European countries have done.

As a result, unlike other major economies, it has avoided an economic recession in 2020 and is in fact estimated to see growth of 2% this year…” (China and North Korea are prophesied to be top contenders and bloody warriors during the battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. China and Russia encircling divided Western allies

December 1, 2020  — EUObserver.com reports: “China and Russia are posing an increasing threat to Western allies, as NATO tries to heal internal splits with the US and Turkey.

That was the picture painted by NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg and the US ambassador to NATO, Kay Bailey Hutchison, in Brussels on Monday (30 November).

‘China is investing massively in new weapons. It is coming closer to us, from the Arctic to Africa,’ Stoltenberg told press ahead of a NATO foreign ministers’ meeting on Tuesday.

‘It does not respect fundamental human rights and tries to intimidate other countries,’ he added.

At the same time, Russia ‘is deploying more forces in our neighbourhood, from the High North to Syria and Libya’ and ‘as a result of the crises in Belarus and Nagorno-Karabakh [a region in Azerbaijan],’ he also said.

‘We’re seeing both China and Russia making a lot more forays through ships, submarines, as well as overflying boundaries,’ in the Arctic, Hutchison told press in a separate briefing the same day.

China’s Army Joins Pakistan for Military Exercises with Warplanes, Troops

December 10, 2020  — Breitbart.com reports: “China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) dispatched fighter jets and soldiers to a Pakistani airbase near the Indian border on Monday for a bilateral drill aimed at preparing both China and Pakistan’s militaries for “actual combat,” the Hindustan Times reported on Tuesday.

“The Chinese air force’s troops set off on December 7 for the Pakistani Air Force’s air base in Bholari at Thatta District in Sindh, northeast of Pakistan’s Karachi to participate in the China-Pakistan Joint Air Force Exercise Shaheen (Eagle) – IX [sic],” China’s national defense ministry announced in a press release on Monday.

“The joint air force exercise … is a project within the 2020 cooperation plan of the two militaries,” the statement read.

“It will promote the development of China-Pakistan mil[itary]-to-mil[itary] relationships, deepen practical cooperation between the two air forces and improve the actual-combat training level of the two sides,” the statement added…” 

U.S. maritime forces to focus on China, Russia, new strategy doc says

December 18, 2020  — SpaceWar.com reports: “The Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard will continue to focus on China and Russia ‘due to their increasing maritime aggressiveness,’ according to a new tri-service maritime strategy Thursday.

The strategy document, titled ‘Advantage at Sea,’ directs the three services to deepen integration, aggressively modernize and continue cooperating with allies and partners.

The strategy’s forward, signed by Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Michael M. Gilday, Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David H. Berger, and Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Karl L. Schultz, said that U.S. military actions and planning now ‘will shape the maritime balance of power for the rest of this century.’

‘Our integrated Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard must maintain clear-eyed resolve to compete with, deter, and, if necessary, defeat our adversaries while we accelerate development of a modernized, integrated all-domain naval force for the future,’ said the forward…”

Russia announces tests of nuclear force capability in recent exercise

December 10, 2020  — SpaceWar.com reports: “Russia launched two ballistic missiles and several cruise missiles during a cross-country training exercise, the defense ministry announced on Wednesday.

The strategic nuclear force exercise was held under the direction of the Supreme Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Vladimir Putin, a statement by the Defense Ministry said.

“Combat training launches of an intercontinental ballistic missile, a ballistic missile of a submarine, [and] high-precision long-range air-launched cruise missiles were carried out,” ministry officials said.

It added that the exercise was held at the Plesetsk State Test Cosmodrome near the Barents Sea in the Arctic Ocean, the Kura Missile Test Range on the coast of the Russian Far East and the Pemboy training grounds in western Siberia…”  (Nuclear war is coming – Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
