NEWS FROM ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST
‘Laugh now, Zionists – soon you’ll be wiped out’
April 19, 2021 — Israel National News reports: “The commander-in-chief of the Iranian military said Israel would soon ‘disappear’, while touting Iran’s efforts to bolster the Hezbollah terrorist organization’s ‘plan to defeat the Zionist regime’.
Major General Hossein Salami, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, addressed mourners at the funeral of Mohammed Hejazi, deputy commander of the Quds Force, Monday morning.
Brigadier General Hejazi died Sunday of a ‘heart condition’ the Iranian military said, without providing additional details. Hejazi was appointed deputy commander of the Quds Force in January 2020, following the assassination of Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani.
According to a report by Iran’s Fars agency, Salami eulogized Hejazi Monday, dubbing him a ‘martyr’, amid speculation Hejazi’s death may have been the result of a targeted assassination…” (God will be the one that laughs: Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men. For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord. They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold. Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah. They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear? But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision. Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence. The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies. Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield. For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak. Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah. And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied. But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy. – Psalm 59:1-17; Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous. The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. – Psalm 37:7-18; Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. – Psalm 2:1-5. Netanyahu on Gaza rockets: Our enemies should not test us
April 27, 2021 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Israel is ready to react to any developments, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday, after terrorists launched over 40 rockets at Israel in the past four days.
‘After the Security Cabinet meeting, we decided to prepare for every scenario,’ Netanyahu said. ‘That is the instruction that I and the defense minister gave.’
‘I don’t suggest that our enemies test us,’ he added.
Still, Netanyahu expressed hope that Monday night’s quiet from Gaza will continue…”
PA official: Jerusalem is an essential part of our faith
April 29, 2021 — Israel National News reports: “Mahmoud Al-Aloul, deputy leader of the Fatah movement, said on Wednesday that holding the elections to the Palestinian parliament without eastern Jerusalem would be a ‘betrayal and crime’.
In a radio interview, Aloul claimed that Israel, which is the ‘occupying authority’, has thus far refused to provide any answer regarding the holding of elections in eastern Jerusalem as demanded by the Palestinian Authority.
He stressed that holding elections in the ‘occupied capital’ of the Palestinian people is a ‘political and sovereign issue not a technical or procedural issue’ and also involves the ‘religious and spiritual dimension.’
‘As far as we are concerned, Jerusalem is not just a geographical location, but an essential part of our faith,’ said Aloul…” (The Gatestone Institute, in an article entitled: The Quran Says Jerusalem Belongs to the Jews – https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11680/quran-jerusalem-jews states: “…Although ordinary Muslims who might not actually have read their holy book could be excused for their ignorance about the Jewish roots of and rights to Israel and Jerusalem, the same cannot be said for the leaders of Muslim countries, imams and the heads of illustrious Islamic institutions. Dignitaries and scholars of that caliber should know better. Yet many of them repeat false assertions that contradict the Quran and scholarly interpretations of its verses.
The fact is that the Quran does not mention Jerusalem or Palestine. It does refer to the sanctity of other holy places, such as Mecca — which is called the “Mother of Cities” — where the Prophet Muhammad was born and where the house of God was built by Abraham, the “father of the prophets.”
The Quran also mentions the city of Yathrib [Medina], where the Prophet Mohammed emigrated after he was persecuted in Mecca, and the location of his grave and the Prophet’s Mosque…”)
