China sends record wave of bombers into Taiwan defence zone

December 13, 2022  — SinoDaily.com reports: “China sent a record 18 nuclear-capable bombers into Taiwan’s air defence zone, Taipei said Tuesday, just days after Beijing banned more Taiwanese imports in the latest sign of deteriorating ties.

Democratic Taiwan lives under the constant threat of invasion by China, which sees the self-ruled island as part of its territory to be seized one day.

Beijing has ramped up military, diplomatic and economic pressure since the 2016 election of Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, who rejects its stance that the island is part of China.

In a daily update on Tuesday morning Taiwan’s defence ministry said 21 aircraft entered the island’s southwest air defence identification zone (ADIZ) over the last 24 hours, including 18 nuclear-capable H-6 bombers.

That represents by far the largest daily sortie by H-6 bombers since Taipei first began releasing daily incursion data in September 2020, according to a database maintained by AFP…”  (China will become a basic partner with Russia for the rapidly approaching battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. Taiwan Reports China’s Largest Incursion yet to Air Defense Zone

December 26, 2022  — Voice of America News reports: “Seventy-one Chinese air force aircraft including fighter jets and drones entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone in the past 24 hours, the island’s government said on Monday, the largest reported incursion to date.

Of the aircraft, 43 also crossed the Taiwan Strait’s median line, an unofficial buffer between the two sides that lies within the defense zone, Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said in a report, as Beijing continues military activities close to the Chinese-claimed island.

Taiwan’s official Central News Agency said it was the largest Chinese air force incursion to date, although there was no sense of alarm on the island, which has witnessed a steady increase in Chinese pressure in recent years.

China, which claims Taiwan as its own territory, said it had conducted ‘strike drills’ in the sea and airspace around Taiwan on Sunday in response to what it said was provocation from the democratically governed island and the United States…”

Philippines ‘concerned’ over China land reclamation in disputed sea

December 22, 2022  — SpaceWar.com reports: “The Philippines said Wednesday it was ‘seriously concerned’ over a report that China has started reclaiming several unoccupied land features in the disputed South China Sea.

Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing satellite images from US officials, that new land formations have emerged around the contested Spratly Islands in the sea, where a Chinese vessel with a hydraulic excavator was seen operating over the years.

‘We are seriously concerned as such activities contravene the Declaration of Conduct on the South China Sea’s undertaking on self-restraint and the 2016 Arbitral Award,’ the Philippine foreign ministry said late Tuesday in response to the report.

The ministry added that other agencies have been asked to investigate the report, which the Chinese embassy in Manila branded as ‘fake news’.

Beijing claims almost all of the resource-rich waterway, through which trillions of dollars in trade passes annually. Other claimants include the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan…”
