China’s Xi Jinping Unanimously Reelected for Historic Third Presidential Term

March 10, 2023 — SputnikNews.com reports: “Xi was both elected to serve again as the president of the People’s Republic of China and chairman of the powerful Central Military Commission during an ongoing session of the 14th National People’s Congress – the supreme state authority of the PRC.

Chinese President Xi Jinping was unanimously reelected for a historic third presidential term on Friday, becoming the first Chinese leader to do so. This was made possible by the Chinese legislature’s move to abolish presidential term limits in 2018.

Xi Jinping in Russia: China Will ‘Stand Guard over the World Order’

While Xi’s public statements upon arrival were mostly about the growing partnership between China and Russia, Putin played his part as the junior partner in the new axis of tyranny, gushing over the Chinese leader and promising ‘clarification’ for why Putin made things awkward for Beijing by invading Ukraine…

Xi is clearly still hoping to build on momentum from the China-brokered rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, perhaps hoping that China could cement its position as the new dominant global power by negotiating an end to Putin’s Ukraine war while the Biden administration glares sullenly from the sidelines.

Xi said when he landed in Moscow that his regime is ready to ‘stand guard over the world order based on international law’ and ‘resolutely defend the U.N.-centric international system,’ which seems like a hollow boast for a leader who refuses to denounce an invasion the U.N. has resoundingly condemned on several occasions over the past year…”

Xi Jinping: China Will Be ‘Active’ in Reforming ‘Global Governance’

Xi used his concluding speech to the NPC on Monday to celebrate China’s expanding global influence and promise that he would dedicate his efforts in the next year to reshaping the world to look more like China. Xi did not spend significant time on the problems facing Chinese people at home, according to reports in both Chinese state propaganda and international media, such as the collapse of the nation’s birthrate, its stalling economy, crippling shortages of basic medicines, and international corporations moving business to neighboring countries such as Vietnam and India…”

China’s Xi Jinping slams US-led ‘suppression’

China lashes out at US, warns of ‘conflict and confrontation’

March 8, 2023 — SpaceWar.com reports: “China lashed out at the United States on Tuesday, accusing Washington of stoking tensions between the two powers and warning of ‘conflict and confrontation’.

Beijing’s new Foreign Minister Qin Gang told a press conference on the sidelines of the ongoing National People’s Congress (NPC) there would be ‘catastrophic consequences’ if the United States carried on in its current direction.

‘If the United States does not hit the brakes but continues to speed down the wrong path, no amount of guardrails can prevent derailing, and there will surely be conflict and confrontation,’ Qin told journalists.

The foreign minister called American competition with China ‘a reckless gamble, with the stakes being the fundamental interests of two peoples and even the future of humanity’.
