Franklin Graham warns Christian broadcasters of ‘coming storm’

May 24, 2023 — The Christian Post reports: “The Rev. Franklin Graham warned members of Christian news media organizations and others about the ‘coming storm’ headed toward churches and ministries in the United States.

Graham, who serves as president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and head of Samaritan’s Purse, gave the keynote speech Monday evening at the National Religious Broadcasters convention in Orlando, Florida.

‘I believe there is a coming storm that we all need to be ready for,’ Graham said. ‘The world has deteriorated so quickly. We cannot be deceived and we can’t be fooled. We need to get ready and be prepared.’

Graham said believers in the United States are ‘living in a cancel culture that wants to destroy Christian organizations,’ adding that ‘we cannot back up, we can’t retreat, don’t apologize for the Gospel — just declare it, just preach it.’

‘They want us to shut our mouths, they don’t want to hear from us. If you’re not going to preach the Gospel, you don’t have anything to worry about,’ he said.

‘If you’re not going to talk about sin, you’re not going to have anything to worry about; but if you’re going to proclaim the Gospel, they’re going to try to shut you up.’…”  (Jesus stated the reason for the persecution of Christians worldwide.  It is because the world hates Him.  Why? If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin… If I had not done among them the works that none other man did, they had not had sin… – John 15:22, 24.  Before Jesus came to the earth, mankind could look at each other and say “I’m not as bad as that person is, I’ve never murdered, I’ve never stolen,” much like the Pharisee did in Luke 18:10 – 14 – I thank thee that I am not as other men... Once Jesus came to the earth, those rationalizations were no longer valid.  As a result, the world strikes out against God, and against Christians.  Jesus also stated in Matthew 5:10 – 12: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.)     

Trans Tyranny: Christian Teacher Banned from Profession After Calling Students ‘Girls’ in Classroom

May 24, 2023 — Breitbart.com reports: “Regulators in Britain have banned a Christian teacher from the profession for life for ‘misgendering’ a student, in what is believed to be the first case of its kind in the country.

The Teaching Regulation Authority (TRA) has ruled that Joshua Sutcliffe, 33, formerly of the Cherwell School at Oxford, should be banned from the teaching profession for failing to use the so-called preferred pronouns of a girl student who identified as a boy, which they claimed amounted to not providing the pupil with ‘dignity and respect’.

Sutcliffe admitted that there was an instance in which he praised a group of students by saying ‘well done girls’ during a maths lesson, which apparently was enough for a student to feel misgendered. Regulators claimed that it was likely that there were other instances of the teacher not using preferred pronouns, however, Sutcliffe had denied these charges, The Telegraph reported.

Shock poll: Bible beliefs ‘much closer to extinction in America’

May 3, 2023 — WND.com reports: “A new study by Christian pollster George Barna comparing Americans’ religious beliefs and practices before and after the COVID pandemic finds some stunning departures from biblically faithful Christianity — including a 14 point drop, from 58%-44%, in the percentage of ‘born-again’ Christians who believe Jesus lived a sinless life on Earth.

The survey, released April 20 and conducted by the Cultural Research Center (CRC), based at Arizona Christian University, in Glendale, Arizona, finds a mere 4% of overall Americans polled who possess a ‘biblical worldview,’ down from 6%, while among born-again Christians, ‘the incidence of biblical worldview among them fell from 19% in 2020 to 13% in 2023.’

In another finding of the report, which compares religious beliefs and practices in 2020, before the pandemic, to 2023, found a huge drop among born-again Christians — from 85% to just 50% — who say they are ‘deeply committed to practicing [their] faith.’…”  (What a sad state Christianity is in all the world.  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;   Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.  But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry – II Timothy 4:1-5.)

At Least 58 Killed, 50 Churches Destroyed in Violence in India

May 9, 2023 — ChristianHeadlines.com reports: “At least 58 people, many of whom are Christian, have been killed amid violence in Manipur, a state in northeastern India.

Some 50 churches were also destroyed or burned in the violence.

According to The Christian Post, the violence was reported in several parts of the state, but mainly in the Imphal Valley and Churachandpur. The Christian victims have identified the attackers as members of the Hindu Meitei ethnic community.

It’s unclear how many Christians have been affected by the violence.

‘We are further verifying,’ Kuldeep Singh, the chief of the Central Reserve Police Force and security advisor of Manipur, said. ‘As and when we get it verified and find out that it is because of the violence, we will confirm it.’

Some 10,000 troops have been stationed in Manipur, while about 13,000 individuals sought refuge in Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Nagaland.

Dozens of Churches Burned, 35,000 Displaced in North India Anti-Christian Riots

May 12, 2023 — Breitbart.com reports: “Riots in northeastern India’s state of Manipur have killed 62 people over the past week and driven some 35,000 from their homes.

The situation is a wild free-for-all battle between some 30 different tribes and the Meitei, the state’s ethnic majority.

Police and military forces were sent in to stabilize the situation, and by Tuesday had begun escorting some displaced residents back to their homes, or the burned ruins of their homes.

‘The situation is slowly limping back to normal,’ said Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Tuesday. ‘We shall order a high-level probe to enquire into the violent clashes.’

On the other hand, state lawmaker Lorho S. Pfoze said the situation in Manipur remains ‘extremely tense,’ and ‘victims are scared to return to their villages as they fear clashes could erupt again.’…”

400 Churches Burned, 70 Christians Killed amid Ongoing Violence in Manipur, India

May 23, 2023 — ChristianHeadlines.com reports: “A wave of violence in Manipur, India, continues to run rampant, with 400 churches being burned and more than 70 Christians killed.

According to The Christian Post, the predominantly Hindu Meitei community — Arambai Tengoll, also known as ‘black-shirts,’ and Meitei Leepun — were alleged to be responsible for the violence.

Earlier this month, violence broke out at the Imphal Valley and Churachandpur, resulting in at least four days of turmoil. Christian tribals associated with the Kuki-Zo communities reside in the Churachandpur.

As reported by The Indian Express, more than 1,000 weapons and 10,000 rounds of ammunition were stolen from the Manipur Police Training College, two local police stations, and an IRB battalion camp in Imphal by members of the Meitei ethnic group during the first few days of the violence.

At the time, 73 people, 64 of whom were Christian tribal residents, were killed, while 200 people were left injured. Over 1,700 residences were also damaged, destroyed, or set on fire. As a result, the turmoil forced 50,000 individuals to abandon their homes. Nigeria: Islamist Herdsmen Kill Dozens in Latest Anti-Christian Massacre

May 17, 2023 — Breitbart.com reports: “Nigeria police said on Monday they are investigating no less than 15 murders over the past week in a rural farming community that was attacked by nomadic herdsmen.

Residents of four villages in the state of Nasarawa said they are ‘under siege’ by the herders, who were reportedly enraged when one of their number was killed with a machete early last week.

Central Nigeria is the scene of a long-running conflict between the herders, who mostly hail from a nomadic Muslim tribe called the Fulani, and farmers, who are largely Christian. Christian groups were stunned last year when the Biden administration began insisting there was no strong religious dimension to the violence, and the Biden State Department removed Nigeria from its list of countries that severely violate religious freedom…”  (Killing is rewarded in Islam.  Not only do they receive 72 virgins as righteous and martyred godly men, but what even more shocking is they get to choose 70 relatives and friends to go to heaven.  Their plan of winning the lost is a sick one and against God’s plan which is: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life – John 3:16.)
