Police Shocked By Scale Of Islamic State Network in Europe

April 9, 2016 — Breitbart.com reports: “Police have uncovered a large and growing network of Islamic State fighters, at least two of whom came to Europe as ‘refugees.’

French and Belgian authorities have found that the scale of the threat of terrorism could be much bigger than they had previously thought. They’ve found that the members of these terror cells are mostly young Muslim men from the Brussels suburbs of Molenbeek and Schaerbeek and many were former criminals often involved with petty thefts and assaults.

Among the jihadis is Paris attacker Abdelhamid Abaaoud. Islamic State fighters in Syria gave him the name Abu Omar al-Belgiki meaning that he was Abu Omar from Belgium. Abaaoud lived most of his live in the notorious Brussels suburb of Molenbeek along with many of the other terrorists who took part in the Paris and Brussels attacks.

The 28-year-old terrorist lived and fought for the Islamic State in Syria for at least two years, took part in various battles and sent video messages to sympathizers back home. Abaaoud, also like many ISIS fighters, is said to have committed atrocities toward prisoners such as dragging them behind his pickup truck through the Syrian desert reports Die Welt…”

 ‘Clear and present threat’ of chemical attacks in Europe

 April 14. 2016 — Israel National News reports: “Russia on Wednesday pushed for measures at the United Nations to monitor extremist groups fighting in Syria, warning of a ‘clear and present threat’ that they could stage chemical attacks, possibly in Europe.

Russia and China presented a draft Security Council resolution that calls on all countries, in particular those neighboring Syria such as Turkey and Iraq, to report any move by armed groups to acquire or produce chemical weapons.

Ambassador Vitaly Churkin said the measure would address the threat of chemical terrorism.

‘I have not heard anybody claim that they are concerned that the Syrian government may use chemical weapons in a subway in a European city – all those things are happening with the terrorists,’ Churkin told reporters.

‘We know that they there is a strong concern, with reports that thousands of them have moved to Europe.’

‘Could some of them have brought with them components of chemical weapons? Could some of them have brought to a European city or European country their knowledge of how to build chemical weapons?’

‘Obviously, this is a clear and present threat.’…”

Islamic State Seeks Biological, Nuclear Materials, Counterterror Officials Warn

April 20, 2016 — Voice of America News reports: “European counterterror chiefs warned at a London conference Tuesday that Islamic State militants are seeking to secure biological and nuclear materials to build rudimentary weapons of mass destruction.

They said IS might be splitting into two for operational purposes, with one wing focused on defending the terror group’s self-styled caliphate straddling Syria and Iraq, and the other dedicated to carrying out terror attacks in the West.

Speaking at the Security and Counter Terror Expo in London, security officials said IS militants had shown interest in obtaining nuclear, biological and chemical material for terror attacks in the West.

‘We know terrorists are trying to acquire these substances,’ said Jamie Shea, deputy assistant secretary general for emerging security threats at NATO. Belgium plans to provide all residents with anti-radiation pills

April 29, 2016 — SpaceDaily.com reports: “The Belgian authorities plan to provide all residents of the country with tablets to minimize the possible effects of radiation, local media reported Thursday.

At the moment, Brussels provides such drugs to residents living within a 12-mile radius of nuclear power plants (NPP) located both within the country and in neighboring states.

According to the Libre Belgique newspaper, Belgian Health Minister Maggie De Block indicated that this radius would be expanded up to 62 miles, which would effectively cover the entire country…”

Islamic State ‘Sleeper Cells’ Operational in Italy

April 27, 2016 — Breitbart.com reports: “According to U.S. intelligence czar James Clapper, the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) has clandestine terror cells that are operational in Italy, as well as in Germany and England, and his remarks have created a state of unrest in Italy.

At a Christian Science Monitor breakfast Monday, the Director of National Intelligence said it is clear that ISIS is taking advantage of Europe’s migrant crisis, and acknowledged that European Union goals of open borders and free movement among member states clashes with the efforts of individual nations to guarantee the safety of their own citizens.

The former Marine rifleman said that European Union attempts to maintain free passage of people and goods across borders ‘is in some ways in conflict with the responsibilities that each country has as a nation-state to protect the borders and securities of their nations and peoples.’

When asked point-blank whether the Islamic State had clandestine cells currently operating in European countries, including Germany and Italy, Clapper answered directly.

Sweden examining ‘Islamic State threat’ to Stockholm

April 26, 2016 — BBC News reports: “Swedish intelligence service Sapo is investigating a possible terror threat to the capital, Stockholm, local media say.

Iraqi authorities had informed Sweden that seven or eight militants from the so-called Islamic State group had travelled to Sweden, newspapers reported.

A Sapo spokesman would not confirm the nature of the information received.

But he told Swedish Radio the information could not be ‘dismissed’.

The national terror threat level is unchanged at three, or ‘elevated’, on a five-point scale.

National agencies and police are said to be on stand-by, though Sapo has cautioned that it receives this type of information ‘quite often’…”

European Beaches Could be Next ISIS Terror Targets

April 21, 2016 — Breitbart.com reports: “After the arrest of an Islamic State fighter in Mallorca, authorities worry the group may target European beaches and bathers over the summer in new terror attacks.

According to the Madrid Ministry of the Interior authorities on the island of Mallorca arrested a 26-year-old who is said to have been in close contact with the leadership of the Islamic State in Syria. The young man used internet forums to recruit new fighters for the group and offered assistance to would-be fighters who wanted to make the trip to Syria.

From his home in Palma the suspected terrorist also advocated new attacks and called upon others to commit acts of terror in Spain and elsewhere reports Kurier.

The arrest comes at a time when media in Italy and Germany have both reported a heightened security alert on European beaches. According to information obtained from police chief, Captain Pouye Seck, from the African nation of Senegal, ISIS fighters may target beach goers in Spain, Southern France and Italy.

The attacks would be similar to the mass shooting of tourists that occurred in Tunisia and led to the deaths of 39 people.

Seck described the Islamic State as making rapid expansion into Senegal. He said, ‘men of the Caliphate are among us. They train a few kilometres from some resorts. The whole area has become inaccessible.’ Seck told of Islamic State linked schools who want to replicate the Tunisia attacks in Europe.

He said that the ISIS fighters would most likely disguise themselves as t-shirt and sunglasses street vendors and sneak in automatic weapons or high explosives to then go on a rampage…”
