‘A new Kristallnacht’: Jewish, Israeli figures express horror over Amsterdam pogrom

November 8, 2024 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Israeli leaders and international Jewish figures have reacted with horror to the scenes of violent antisemitism that unfolded in Amsterdam on Thursday night following a Maccabi TLV-Ajax soccer match.

The pogrom against Israeli fans, which resulted in multiple wounded and three missing, is now apparently under control, according to Dutch officials.

Yaakov Hagoel, Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, said once again, ‘we are forced to witness as Jewish blood is once again shed with impunity.’

‘I call, in the strongest and most unequivocal terms, on the leaders of the world: the responsibility for the safety of Jews in your countries is yours alone.’

The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) called the attacks on Israeli soccer fans ‘a new Kristallnacht.’

‘Exactly 86 years after Kristallnacht, when Nazis, along with ordinary Germans hunted Jews through the streets of Europe, we see their ideological heirs rampaging through the streets of Amsterdam once again seeking to spill Jewish blood,’ said CEO of CAM Sacha Roytman Dratwa…”  (Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. Amsterdam ‘Jew Hunt’ Was Premeditated and Organised on Pro-Palestine Group Chats: Report

November 12, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “The Islamist ‘Jew hunt’ following a soccer match in Amsterdam last week was premeditated and organised on messaging apps before the game, a report has found.

Undermining claims from pro-Palestinian apologists that the attacks which left 25 people injured in Amsterdam were inspired by anti-Arab chants from Israeli fans at the Ajax—Maccabi Tel Aviv match on Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the attacks were planned ahead of the match.

Screencaps from a local WhatsApp message group obtained by the paper showed members sharing Palestinian flags and messages apparently calling for violence against the Israeli fans who travelled to the city for the match. A member of the messaging group, dubbed the ‘Community Center’, called for a ’PART 2 JEW HUNT’ to be waged following the Ajax-Maccabi game.

Another message, posted in Arabic, thanked another member for updating the group on the whereabouts of Israelis in the city and, in Dutch, added, ‘Bro, your tip was worth gold.’

According to Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema, the Telegram messaging app was also used to discuss ‘going on Jew hunts’.

‘This is so shocking and despicable that I cannot get over it yet. It is a disgrace,’ she said…” (The Jewish people have long been blamed for all of the world’s ills.  All throughout history they have been the universal scapegoat.  Incredibly, even the awful plague of the Black Death that swept Europe was blamed on the Jews. They were accused of having poisoned wells with a powder made of spiders, frog legs, Christian entrails, and consecrated hosts (Communion bread). Dutch King: ‘We failed the Jews in WW2, last night we failed again’

November 8, 2024 — Israel National News reports: “Israel’s President Isaac Herzog, today, spoke with the King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, following the horrific acts of violence against Israelis and Jews on the streets of Amsterdam last night.

The President noted that last night’s events echoed dark and grim times for the Jewish people and must be unequivocally condemned. He urged that every possible measure be taken on the streets of Amsterdam to halt this terrible wave of antisemitic hatred…

The King of the Netherlands strongly condemned and expressed deep horror and shock over the criminal acts committed. The King told the President, ‘We failed the Jewish community of the Netherlands during World War II, and last night we failed again.’ He conveyed profound outrage and promised that his government would do everything possible to ensure the safety of visitors and facilitate their safe return to Israel…”

Red Card for Jews: Europe Becoming De facto No Go Zone for Israeli Soccer Fans

November 13, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “Israelis in Europe have been warned to ‘categorically avoid’ being visibly Jewish at cultural and sporting events for the next month in the wake of a ‘pogrom’ in Amsterdam last week, yet finding an Israeli football match to watch is becoming increasingly difficult.

Since the October 7th terrorist attacks against Israel, a strange phenomenon has befallen Israeli sport. Home games aren’t played at home — the sport’s governing body, UEFA, says it is too dangerous for players to visit — and increasingly, away games aren’t played at their host nations either.

The possibility of having Israeli footballers and fans visit foreign states is now discussed in terms like ‘disproportionate risk’, ‘security concerns’, ‘politically sensitive’, ‘high-risk’, and ‘fear of disturbances’. European football once had a real hooliganism problem, but sophisticated policing and social engineering through the game itself, which developed over many years, has all but removed the issue. Yet the security concerns today are not over thuggish fans but from the violent rejection of having visiting citizens from the Jewish state grace European cities at all…”

France-Israel match, 4,000 law enforcement officers mobilized: ‘Zero tolerance’

November 11, 2024 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Massive deployment of law enforcement for the France-Israel Nations League match scheduled for next Thursday at the Stade de France.

A ‘high-risk’ match, as the Paris prefect, Laurent Nuñez, said, confirming on BFM TV that 4,000 law enforcement officers, including Police and Gendarmerie, will be mobilized, an ‘extremely reinforced device.’

About 1,600 security officers will be mobilized at the Stade de France and the Raid, the elite unit of the French Police, will escort the Israeli team, he said, speaking of a match in a ‘very tense geopolitical context’ after the events in Amsterdam in conjunction with the match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

In Paris, Nunez said, there will be ‘zero tolerance’ for any unrest before and after the match. ‘We will not tolerate excesses or disturbances to public order,’ he said, reiterating that checks at the entrance to the stadium will be ‘extremely reinforced.’

Nunez also announced the ban on displaying Palestinian flags at the Stade de France during the match. In an interview with French media, he said: ‘There can be no political messages in stadiums, including Palestinian flags. Only French and Israeli flags will be present in the stadium.’…”

Masked attackers assault two Jewish students outside DePaul University of Chicago

November 7, 2024 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Two Jewish students were physically assaulted on Wednesday outside the Lincoln Park campus of Chicago’s DePaul University, university officials confirmed on Thursday.

The attack, which occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. outside the school’s student center, saw masked attackers punching Jewish students while they displayed their support for Israel. 

One victim was struck in the face and body and the other victim was pushed to the ground, according to CNN. Both students declined medical attention…”

Orthodox Jew brutally attacked in attempted mugging in New York

November 7, 2024 — Israel National News reports: “A Hassidic man in his 50s was brutally attacked in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn during a mugging attempt.

According to eye-witnesses, the assailants hit the man with a wooden stick until it broke.

The violent incident occurred on Wednesday at around 7:20 p.m. as the victim exited the local subway station.

Two masked young men approached the victim and asked ‘What type of phone do you have?’ When he attempted to flee, they brutally beat him.

‘The victim is in excruciating pain and is currently in the emergency room,’ Yaacov Behrman, a local activist, reported.

According to local reports, this attack joins three other antisemitic incidents that occurred last week in Crown Heights, including an incident in which an assailant slashed a Jewish man in the face, another where a Jewish man was violently knocked to the ground, and a third where a suspect harassed customers at a Kosher cafe…”
