Iran’s president-elect reaffirms policy toward Israel 

July 9, 2024 — Voice of America News reports: “President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s anti-Israel stance on Monday, saying resistance movements across the region will not allow Israel’s ‘criminal policies’ toward the Palestinians to continue.

‘The Islamic Republic has always supported the resistance of the people of the region against the illegitimate Zionist regime,’ Pezeshkian said in a message to Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah group.

The comments signaled no change in the regional policies of the incoming government under the relatively moderate Pezeshkian, who defeated his hardline rival in last week’s runoff election.

‘I am certain that the resistance movements in the region will not allow this regime to continue its warmongering and criminal policies against the oppressed people of Palestine and other nations of the region,’ Iranian media quoted Pezeshkian as saying…”  (Iran has a long history of calling for the destruction of Israel  It will never happen.  Almighty God has stated: …I will give them [Israel] an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off – Isaiah 56:5.  Everlasting means everlasting.  God promised to Abraham in Genesis 22:17: …in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the starts of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore…    And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt; To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.  Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.  Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever – Deuteronomy 4:37 – 40.  See the next report.)

Khamenei and Iran’s Military Lock Arms with ‘Moderate’ President-Elect, Signaling Little Hope for Change

July 9, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, offered fulsome praise on Sunday for the late President Ebrahim Raisi as a means of laying down the law for his replacement, ‘moderate’ President-Elect Masoud Pezeshkian.

The powerful Iranian military announced it was ready to work with Pezeshkian, which is better understood as a way of saying he had better be ready to work with them.

Pezeshkian was declared the winner of a runoff election against hard-line cleric Saeed Jalili on Saturday, besting him by 3 million votes in an election that had much higher turnout than the first round of voting a week earlier. 

Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohammad Baqeri on Sunday praised the high turnout for the runoff as a ‘scintillating’ victory for the Iranian system and a demonstration of national unity…”
