Destruction of Israel guaranteed, Ayatollah says

WND.com reports: “Iran’s supreme leader promises in a newly released audiotape the destruction of Israel and Palestinians’ return to that land.

Fars News Agency, an outlet run by the Revolutionary Guards, posted an audiotape of excerpts of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s speeches to Palestinian officials and others with a title ‘Palestine will surely become free.’

In the audiotape, which is partly in Arabic, Khamenei gives blessings to those who fight against Israel and says, ‘Peace be upon the children of our nation, peace be upon the brave jihadists in Palestinian and Lebanese resistance. Today the Islamic world and the whole world are witnesses to great revelations that show change in international affairs.’

The ayatollah promises a restructuring of the Middle East: ‘Palestine will be free, have no doubt in this. … Palestinians will return there and there will be a Palestinian government … and that is based on the truth revealed by God. A new Middle East will be … an Islamic Middle East.’

Khamenei attacks Israel for defending itself: ‘They attacked Lebanon – a mistake. They attacked Gaza – a mistake. They attacked those (Turkish) ships – a mistake. These mistakes, one after another, show that the murderous Zionist regime of Israel is reaching the final fall and destruction of its own non-existence.’

IDF chief warns attack against Israel will carry ‘painful price’

YnetNews.com reports: “Against the background of a possible American strike against Syria, the Israeli Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen Benny Gantz threatened Israel’s neighbor to the north that aggression will carry a ‘painful price.’

‘In the case of fire directed at Israel, it’s clear to all the world’s leaders that the price will be painful and the enemy’s loss a dire one,’ the chief of staff said on Thursday [August 29, 2013].

‘The IDF is standing at the threshold of challenging days,’ Gantz added. ‘We’ve analyzed the different meanings from every possible development, and out of the necessary responsibility, we’re readying for every scenario. Our intelligence capabilities, most advanced attack methods and our defense systems in the air, land and sea are alerted and manned by our best soldiers.’

Gantz called on citizens to ‘continue with their daily routine and preparations for the holidays, with the knowledge that the IDF is standing for their defense determined, strong and ready as ever.’…”

Netanyahu: We Have an Iron Dome – and an Iron Will     

Israel National News reports: “Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had a message for Israel’s enemies on Tuesday [September 3, 2013] as he dedicated a new national cyber center and high-tech park in the southern city of Be’er Sheva.

‘We need to see to [our] security. This is our first obligation, as well as mine as Prime Minister, and this is a challenge for us because the reality around is challenging,’ Netanyahu began.

‘In the end, our lives depend on an iron wall. We are building an iron wall, an Iron Dome, and we have an iron will,’ he declared.

‘These are the things that give us the strength to defend ourselves and also to tell those who would attack us: it is not worth your while. These are the fundamentals that protect the State of Israel. Everything else is happening here now.’…”

Barkat: ‘Jerusalem Cannot Be Split’

Israel National News reports: “‘Dividing Jerusalem will never function, it will never work,’ insisted Nir Barkat, current mayor of Jerusalem, in an interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday [September 3, 2013].

‘Any partition of the city as part of a future peace agreement with Palestinians will not work, only a united city could function and thrive,’ Barkat declared, continuing to say that thoughts of breaking up Israel’s capital should be off the table altogether.

Barkat said that his administration has treated the city’s Arab residents honestly and equally and that alone might affect the political future of Jerusalem…”

Islamic Jihad Issues Call to Abduct IDF Soldiers

Israel National News reports: “Hader Habib, a senior member of the Islamic Jihad in Gaza, called on fellow terrorists to abduct an IDF soldier, in a speech Sunday [September 1, 2013] at a protest tent for identification with Palestinian Authority (PA) prisoners that was erected next to the Red Cross Headquarters in Gaza.

Hader called for the abduction of soldiers so that they can be exchanged for PA prisoners.

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said Tuesday in his speech at the Fatah convention that releasing Fatah Tanzim commander Marwan Barghouti, who was sentenced to five life sentences, and Ahmed Saadat, the PFLP commander who ordered the assassination of Minister Rechavam Ze’evi, as well as other senior terrorists, are on his political agenda.

‘None of the Palestinian prisoners in Israel will be forgotten,’ he declared…”

Iran Mounts Advanced Weapons, Radars on New Overhauled Warship

The Fars News Agency reports: “A senior Iranian commander announced on Tuesday [September 3, 2013] that the country’s Navy has equipped its newly-overhauled warship, Lavan, with advanced weapons and radar systems to improve its performance and fire power.

‘Some repairs and changes have been made to the body as well as the sailing, sonar and radar systems, weapons and information-gathering sensors of the warship,’ Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari told reporters on the sidelines of a forum in the Northern city of Noshahr today.

‘The warship needed an overhaul and equipment with the state of the art and novel technologies and therefore the warship’s weapons have been modernized,’ he added.

Sayyari said that the overhauled warship may be unveiled in the Sacred Defense Week (late September), commemorating Iranians’ sacrifices during the 8 years of the Iraqi imposed war on Iran in 1980s.
