NEWS FROM ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST

Palestinians would destroy Israel if they could

September 7, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “Israeli Jews believe that residents of the Palestinian Authority have not come to terms with Israel’s existence and would destroy the Jewish state if given the opportunity to do so – yet remain strongly divided on the issue of Palestinian statehood, a new poll shows.

According to the latest Peace Index survey by the Israel Democracy Institute and Tel Aviv University, a solid majority of both Israeli Arabs and Jews agree with the statement that ‘Most of the Palestinians have not come to terms with Israel’s existence and would destroy it if they could.’

Nearly two-thirds (65.6%) of Israeli Jews and well over half (57.6%) of Israeli Arabs say they agreed with the above statement…”  (They can’t.  Israel is the apple of God’s eye – Zechariah 2:8, and His elect – Isaiah 42:1; 45:4; 65:22. Satan and Satanically controlled humans have always sought after ways to annihilate the Jews – I Chronicles 21:1. There will be a final attempt by Islamic terrorists and armies – Psalm 83:4 – but Israel, God’s Chosen People – Deuteronomy 7:7,8 – has the Lord’s promise recorded in Isaiah 56:5 stating: “I will give them [Israel] an everlasting name.”  See the next four reports.)

Arab League urges pressure on Israel

September 17, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “The Arab League on Sunday urged the international community to exert immediate pressure on Israel to halt the demolition of the illegal Bedouin outpost of Khan Al-Ahmar.

Khan al-Ahmar was built in the 1990s on land belonging to the Israeli town of Kfar Adumim, east of Jerusalem. The encampment is home to some 170 Bedouin, who have expanded the community in recent years with the aid of foreign governments.

Israeli courts approved the outpost’s demolition, but in July the Supreme Court froze plans to evacuate Khan al-Ahmar, pending an appeal by residents.

Israeli security forces had been preparing for the planned demolition, which was set to commence just hours before the court intervened.

Two weeks ago, however, the Supreme Court ruled against the residents, rejecting their claims and clearing the way for Khan al-Ahmar’s evacuation…”

‘Prevent situation where Iran surrounds Israel’

September 20, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “Political Security Cabinet member Minister Naftali Bennett referred today to the tension between Russia and Israel after a Russian plane was shot down by Syrian anti-aircraft fire during an airstrike in Latakia on Monday.

‘We want to prevent a situation where Iran envelops the State of Israel in its arms. Of course we express regret over the downing of the Russian plane; we have mechanisms to prevent such incidents and we’ll reinforce them. In the end, the one who downed the plane was Syria,’ Bennett said on Army Radio.

‘The mechanism for preventing friction between the IDF and the Russian army is operational, and it’s worked very well until now. When the Syrian army launched the missiles at the plane, our planes were no longer in the area. Russia has its interests and Israel has its own. In the end, we need to act with determination and consistency.’…”

Rouhani urges Iran’s army to increase power

September 10, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday urged Iran’s armed forces to increase their power to ‘scare off’ the enemy, Reuters reported.

His statement came just before Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards said it fired seven missiles in an attack on Iraq-based Iranian Kurdish dissidents that killed at least 11 people on Saturday.

‘Increase your power as much as you can, because your power scares off the enemy and forces it to retreat,’ Khamenei said at a graduation ceremony for cadets of Iran’s regular armed forces.

‘Iran and the Iranian nation have resisted America and proven that, if a nation is not afraid of threats by bullies and relies on its own capabilities, it can force the superpowers to retreat and defeat them,’ Khamenei added, according to Reuters…”

Nasrallah: Hezbollah maintains advanced missiles despite Israeli strike

September 20, 2018 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah claimed on Thursday that the balance of power between the Lebanese Shi’ite terror group and Israel has ‘changed,’ and that the group has accurate missiles which would be used in the next conflict.

‘All your attempts to prevent Hezbollah from possessing accurate missiles are foiled,’ Nasrallah said during a speech via video to Beirut’s Dahiyeh suburb to mark the Muslim holiday Ashura. ‘We have accurate missiles that if used in any future war will change the entire equation.’

‘No matter what you do to cut the route, the matter is over and the resistance possesses precision and non-precision rockets and weapons capabilities,’ he said.

Israel has reiterated its view several times on any transfer of advanced weaponry to Hezbollah as a ‘red line’ and will work to prevent any such movement…”

Hezbollah commander: ‘Preparing surprises for enemy’

September 16, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “A Lebanon Hezbollah military camp commander expressed confidence with regard to Israel during press coverage of the camp he commands.

A pro-Hezbollah Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar correspondent visited the camp and heard the commander’s words, which were translated by MEMRI Institute investigators. He stated his organization was prepared for a new war with Israel and that they had ‘many surprises for the enemy’.

In the interview, the commander told the reporter about a month ago, at a meeting of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah with the organization’s military commanders, it was said that Hezbollah was well aware of IDF force deployment and war preparations, stating the possibility that in the next war, the organization’s operatives will succeed in infiltrating into Israel and Judea and Samaria…”  (Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.  – Psalm 2:1-4.)

‘Jewish prayers on Temple Mount insult Al-Aqsa’

September 20, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “Muslim organizations call for general mobilization by their public to ‘protect’ Al-Aqsa Mosque from a ‘settler invasion’ into the mosque area in coming days.

Palestinian Authority Religious Endowments and Religious Affairs Minister Sheikh Yusuf Aidees said Jewish intrusion incidents into the mosque are a ‘dangerous escalation’ and ‘insult the feelings of millions of Muslims not only in Palestine but in the entire world.’

He warned that these actions directed against the ‘holy sites of Islam’ could drag the region into a security escalation and intensify religious and national rage…”  (As I reported in the July 2018 Van Impe Intelligence Briefing in Genesis 22:1-14 God commanded Abraham to bring his son Isaac to the land of Moriah and offer him as a sacrifice there.  As he was about to complete the sacrifice, God stopped him and provided a ram as a substitutionary sacrifice.  In I Chronicles 21:18 – 26, King David purchased this mount so he could build an altar to offer a sacrifice when he confessed his sin.  This was the location where the angel of the Lord was commanded to stop the destruction of Jerusalem [I Chronicles 21:15].  In II Chronicles 3:1, King Solomon built the First Temple on Mount Moriah, this was started in 966 BC.  This Temple stood until 586 BC when it was destroyed by the Babylonians.  The Second Temple was built in 516 BC and enlarged by Herod the Great in 12 BC.  It stood until it was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70.  The Dome of the Rock was built in AD 692, and the Al Aqsa Mosque was not built until AD 705.  It is obvious who has the rightful claim to the Temple Mount.  See the next report.)

More incitement: ‘Al-Aqsa Mosque will come under suicide attack’

September 20, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “Islamic Movement in Israel deputy head Kamal al-Khatib, whose organization was outlawed in 2015, says there is a reasonable possibility the al-Aqsa Mosque will be attacked with a missile or a bomb.

In an interview with the Hamas newspaper Felesteen yesterday, Khatib said an attack could be carried out against the Al-Aqsa mosque by a suicide pilot or launching missiles from ‘occupation ammunition stockpiles’. According to him, the probability of such a scenario increases because of political and religious support for extremist groups in Israel…”

Michigan Democrat: Hamas legitimate – Israel is the aggressor

September 5, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “The Democratic ticket in Michigan’s gubernatorial race has come under fire again, after it was revealed that the nominee for Lieutenant Governor made statements condemning Israel and legitimizing the Hamas terrorist organization.

This after the gubernatorial candidate refused to denounce the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement at a meeting with voters late last month.

Last month, Michigan Democrats nominated former county prosecutor and former Minority Leader of the Michigan Senate Gretchen Whitmer for this November’s gubernatorial race. Joining Whitmer on the ticket is Garlin Gilchrist, a political activist from Detroit and self-described ‘nonprofit leader’, who is running for Lieutenant Governor…”  (Genesis 15:18 states: “In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates”  and in Joshua 1:4 we read: “From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.”  These verses encompass all of the land modern Israel currently possesses, plus all of the land of the Palestinians (the West Bank and Gaza), plus some of Egypt and Syria, plus all of Jordan, plus some of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Israel currently possesses only a fraction of the land God has promised.)

In tacit threat, Israel releases satellite photos of Syrian presidential palace

September 17, 2018 — The Times of Israel reports: “Israel on Monday released photographs taken by its newest spy satellite of sites located deep inside Syria, including Syrian dictator Bashar Assad’s palace, in an apparent threat to the regime.

The images, taken by the Ofek 11 spy satellite, were released by the Defense Ministry to mark 30 years since Israel’s first orbital launch on September 19, 1988.

The three photographs released by the ministry showed the Syrian Presidential Palace, also known as the Palace of the People; tanks on a Syrian military base; and the Damascus international airport, which was reportedly targeted by an Israeli missile strike on Saturday night.

The publication of the images could be seen as both a show of strength and a tacit threat to Syria, where Israel has routinely conducted air raids against Iranian targets — over 200 of them since 2017, according to the Israel Defense Forces…”  (Isaiah 17:1 states: “The burden of Damascus.  Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.”   Damascus is widely believed to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, but God’s Word declares that will end.)
