Kim Jong Un tells North Korea arms factories to boost capacity

August 7, 2023 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has instructed factories making missile engines, artillery and other weapons to boost capacity as an important part of bolstering the country’s defense capabilities, state media said on Sunday.

Kim’s inspections from Thursday to Saturday included the production of engines for strategic cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as shells for super large-caliber multiple-rocket launchers and transporter-erector-launchers, said state news agency KCNA.

His unusual visits to multiple arms production facilities over several days come as Pyongyang pushes to develop various strategic and conventional weapons and holds prominent displays of a range of arms.

The launchers Kim inspected are normally used to fire ballistic missiles…”  (China and North Korea are prophesied to be top contenders and bloody warriors during the battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. Kim Jong Un fires top military brass, orders troops to prepare for ‘offensive’ war

August 10, 2023 — SpaceWar.com reports: “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sacked his top general while calling for the military to boost weapons production and increase combat drills in preparation for an ‘offensive’ war, state-run media reported Thursday.

Kim fired Gen. Pak Su Il, chief of the General Staff, during a meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party central military commission held Wednesday, Korean Central News Agency reported.

He replaced Pak with Vice Marshal Ri Yong Gil, who currently serves as the North’s defense minister.

The meeting also dealt with ‘dismissing, transferring to other posts or newly appointing some leading commanding officers,’ KCNA said. No reasons were given for the military reshuffle…”

North Korean leader oversees test of strategic cruise missiles

August 21, 2023 — Israel National News reports: “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has overseen a test of strategic cruise missiles, Reuters reported on Sunday, citing state media KCNA.

Kim visited a navy fleet stationed on the east coast to inspect the test aboard a warship, KCNA said, without specifying the date of his trip.

The launch was aimed at verifying the ‘combat function of the ship and the feature of its missile system,’ while improving the sailors’ capability to carry out an ‘attack mission in actual war,’ the North Korean news agency said, adding, ‘The ship rapidly hit target without even an error,’ it said.

Kim touted the ship for maintaining ‘high mobility and mighty striking power and constant preparedness for combat to cope with sudden situations,’ KCNA said…” 

North Korea calls itself a ‘responsible nuclear power’

August 8, 2023 — SpaceWar.com reports: “North Korea’s permanent mission to the United Nations on Saturday called the isolated country a ‘responsible nuclear power.’

‘Today’s sobering reality is that the threat to international peace and security and the nuclear non-proliferation regime is being generated by the United States,’ the mission said in a statement published by North Korea’s Foreign Ministry.

North Korea said that the United States ‘unilaterally’ prioritizes the ‘narrow interests of itself and its allies’ on the U.N. Security Council and blasted the AUKUS alliance between the U.S., Britain and Australia announced in 2021.

One of the main provisions of the AUKUS alliance regards assisting Australia in acquiring nuclear-powered submarines. The deal has been criticized by scholars and politicians and described as an act of nuclear proliferation.

North Korea accused the U.S. of raising the level of military tension between the two countries to the highest level in 42 years and ‘to the point of nuclear war’ by establishing the bilateral Nuclear Consultative Group with South Korea…”  (Even if North Korea gives up its nuclear weapons, there are enough remaining in the world to create havoc.  Nuclear war is part of the battle of the ages – see Revelation 9:18.
