Israel in Hague hearing: ‘Hamas tortured, burned, raped and abducted – Israel justified in actions’

January 12, 2024 — YnetNews.com reports: “In response to South Africa’s unfounded allegations against it amid ongoing conflict, Israel’s representations are being heard Friday morning at the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

The case brought against Israel by South Africa accuses it of acts in the Gaza Strip that, according to them, constitute ‘genocide.’

In Thursday’s preliminary hearing, South African advocates presented a series of charges, most of which lack evidential foundation or are exaggerated and bizarre. They seek an interim order from the court to halt the war. The South Africans almost completely ignored the massacre committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7.

Representing Israel in the court is former Supreme Court chief justice Aharon Barak. Israel’s lead advocate is Prof. Malcolm Shaw, a British Jewish legal scholar.

Tal Becker, the legal adviser for Israel’s Foreign Ministry, spoke at the opening of the second day of hearings and bashed South Africa for what he called a ‘grossly distorted story’ it brought before the court with its accusations that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza.

‘Hamas terrorists tortured, burned, raped and abducted Israeli citizens,’ he said, charging that the applicant neglected to mention Hamas’ crimes against Israeli citizens…”  (This bears repeating from the January 2024 Van Impe Intelligence Briefing:

Nolan Finley, Editorial Page Editor for The Detroit News tells of watching “Bearing Witness to the October 7^th Massacre” that was shown by the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Israeli Consulate to the Midwest.  The majority of the film was compiled from the cell phones and body cameras of the Hamas terrorists as they carried out this massacre.  He states: What we saw Sunday night was excruciating to watch, harder still to discuss. When it was over most of us walked to our cars barely speaking.

Imagine watching the most gruesome horror flick, without the benefit of knowing the gore on screen is make-believe. In this movie, the blood is real. The bodies are real. The evil is real…

More sickening for me than the gruesome images is the absolute joy with which the killers went about their sadistic work. I expected to see angry, frothing mad men. Instead, these killers are happy. They looked like gleeful young men celebrating a soccer win…

And this, I’m told, is the PG version. It doesn’t depict the mass rapes and mutilation of babies that was reported, but nothing in video suggests such depravity is beyond the pall for the marauders…

I wondered going into the screening what emotions I’d feel coming out. Revulsion? Heartache? Grief?

All of that. But mostly rage, an absolute red-hot anger that there are people in this world capable of such evil and others who would excuse their wickedness.

Report: Thousands of UNRWA teachers celebrate Hamas’ rape and murder of civilians

January 10, 2024 — Israel National News reports: “A Telegram group of 3,000 UNRWA teachers in Gaza is replete with posts celebrating the Hamas massacre of October 7th minutes after it began, UN Watch reported.

UN Watch is a Geneva-based non-governmental organization that monitors the world body.

According to the report, the posts praise the Hamas murderers and rapists as ‘heroes,’ glorify the ‘education’ that the terrorists received, and ‘gleefully’ share photos of dead and kidnapped Israelis. 

In their group, the UNRWA teachers also urge the execution of those Israelis taken hostage.

Aside from their posts on the October 7 massacre, UNRWA teachers regularly use the Telegram group to share videos, photos, and messages inciting to terrorism, the report noted. The teachers also used the group as a platform to openly celebrate Hamas’ massacre and rape of civilians…”

January 10, 2024 — The Times of Israel reports: “The October 7 onslaught began with 70 terrorists who carried out a surprise assault at several points along the border of the Gaza Strip, according to sources close to the leadership of Hamas’s Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades military wing.

The sources told the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper in a report published Wednesday that the terrorists involved in the devastating attack were selected from among hundreds of elite commandos from all over Gaza, and underwent training for a number of years, along with continuous testing to gauge their skills.

Some 1,200 people were slaughtered and around 240 others dragged to Gaza as hostages — mainly civilians — when thousands of Hamas-led terrorists burst into Israel on October 7, rampaging through communities and army bases in the south.

The London-based newspaper said that plans for the devastating assault on Israeli towns close to the Gaza border began years earlier — prior to Operation Protective Edge in 2014 — but major efforts to train and prepare were frozen with the outbreak of fighting and stayed on hold for a year at that point.

Hamas Chief Calls to ‘Build Upon’ Oct. 7 ‘Victory,’ Praises Gaza Donations as ‘Financial Jihad’

January 12, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “Muslim leaders worldwide must ‘hold on’ to the October 7 ‘victory’ and ‘build upon it,’ according to Hamas terror organization senior leader Ismail Haniyeh, who appealed for monetary support for Gaza, which he described as ‘financial Jihad,’ while declaring ‘the time has come for the Jihad of the swords.’ 

Speaking at the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) conference in Doha, Qatar, which was aired on Al-Jazeera Tuesday, Hamas’s Qatar-based politburo chief addressed the role of Islamic scholars globally in the wake of the October 7 massacre — the deadliest attack against Jewish people since the Nazi Holocaust.

Hamas Defies Critics: Says Its Terrorists Upheld ‘Islamic Values’ During Murderous Attack on Israel

January 23, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “The Hamas terrorist organization released a report Sunday into its October 7 attack on Israel, claiming its fighters were committed to ‘Islamic values’ and if civilians were targeted ‘it happened accidentally’ in the course of the murderous rampage.

In its first public report on the killing spree that began the war, Hamas said the incursion – referred to as ‘Operation Al Aqsa Flood’ – was a ‘necessary step’ against Israel’s alleged ‘occupation of Palestinian territories,’ and a way to secure release of Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas’s 16-page report admitted ‘some faults happened…’ and claimed its terror operatives were committed to ‘Islamic values’, but then quickly proceeded to allege ‘the rapid collapse of the Israeli security and military system, and the chaos caused along the border areas’ was to blame for the high civilian casualty list…”  (Mass sexual assault of women in public has been documented in Egypt since 2005.  On February 11, 2011, CBS News correspondent Lara Logan was reporting in Egypt about the celebrations following the resignation of Hosni Mubarak when she was attacked by a group of 200 – 300 men, several of whom gang raped her for nearly one half hour.  Her only offense – not having her head covered.  In an article I have cited before, Dawn Perlmutter said: “From a Western perspective this was a crazed mob out of control.  For a shame culture this was an acceptable punishment for a woman who was not properly covered.  They pulled her blonde hair out and more than likely kept it as souvenirs.”

Gazans to IDF: Hamas steals UNRWA food, kills civilians who ask for aid

January 9, 2024 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Gazan civilians have testified to officers of the IDF’s Unit 504 how Hamas murdered Gazan civilians who tried to get help from UNRWA and that Hamas terrorists steal food from US aid organizations and seize civilian properties for military use.

In one recorded call, a Gazan civilian testified that Hamas murdered his cousin because he tried to seek help from UNRWA. In another conversation, a civilian said he does not leave his home because he fears Hamas will seize it and use the property to fire toward Israel and destroy his house.

One civilian is heard on a recording saying, ‘When will you get rid of [Hamas]? They killed my cousin yesterday because he went to UNRWA.’

‘They killed him in Rafah,’ the civilian tells the IDF officer. 

A different civilian is recorded telling the IDF how Hamas terrorists steal food from civilians…”

Netanyahu: Israel has no intention of permanently occupying Gaza

January 11, 2024 — Israel National News reports: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday evening released a video statement in which he stressed that Israel is fully complying with international law in the war against Hamas in Gaza.

‘I want to make a few points absolutely clear: Israel has no intention of permanently occupying Gaza or displacing its civilian population,’ he stated.

‘Israel is fighting Hamas terrorists, not the Palestinian population, and we are doing so in full compliance with international law. The IDF is doing its utmost to minimize civilian casualties, while Hamas is doing its utmost to maximize them by using Palestinian civilians as human shields,’ added Netanyahu.

‘The IDF urges Palestinian civilians to leave war zones by disseminating leaflets, making phone calls, providing safe passage corridors, while Hamas prevents Palestinians from leaving at gunpoint and often, with gunfire,’ said the Prime Minister.

‘Our goal is to rid Gaza of Hamas terrorists and free our hostages. Once this is achieved Gaza can be demilitarized and deradicalized, thereby creating a possibility for a better future for Israel and Palestinians alike,’ he concluded…”  (Israel certainly has the biblical rights to control all of Gaza, even though they say they are not looking to permanently occupy it.

Genesis 15:18 states: In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates  and in Joshua 1:4 we read: From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.  These verses encompass all of the land modern Israel currently possesses, plus all of the land of the Palestinians (the West Bank and Gaza), plus some of Egypt and Syria, plus all of Jordan, plus some of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Israel currently possesses only a fraction of the land God has promised.) 

Minister Benny Gantz warns: If we stop now – Hamas will regain control

January 11, 2024 — Israel National News reports: “The chairman of the National Unity Party, Minister Benny Gantz, gave a statement on Wednesday afternoon in which he said that the war against Hamas in Gaza must not be stopped.

‘The achievements of the IDF are increasing. Shaft after shaft, headquarters after headquarters. A large part of the Gaza Strip is not ruled by Hamas today. The public institutions were destroyed, it does not provide education or medical services except through international organizations. A Gazan citizen does not have a true governmental address,’ Gantz said.

He added that ‘even in the military aspects – many of the Hamas battalions have been disbanded, the launch capabilities have been damaged, and its effective control on the ground, with an emphasis on the northern Gaza Strip and Gaza City – does not exist. We must continue. If we stop now, Hamas will regain control.’

Gantz noted that the two goals of the war – the return of the hostages and the eradication of Hamas – are achievable. ‘Reality obliges us and the achievements allow us to examine and adjust our operating methods and strengths.’

‘In most areas we have completed the stage of operational takeover, and now we are deep in the stage of dismantling the terrorist infrastructure, which will lead to the demilitarization of the Strip. We carry out our activities in the Strip by combining defense, attack and dismantling infrastructure,’ stated Gantz…”  (God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Iran’s latest missile strike is a warning message to Israel, US

January 19, 2024 — YnetNews.com reports: “Iran’s recent series of missile attacks against targets in Syria, Iraq and Pakistan were reportedly intended to showcase its advanced ballistic missile capabilities and send a message to Israel and the United States.

According to an investigation by The New York Times, security officials in Europe and Israel, along with other international experts, are closely monitoring Iran’s rapid progress in missile precision technology.

Last year, Iran successfully demonstrated its suicide drones in the Russian-Ukrainian war, after selling thousands of such drones to Russia. Now, Iran is conducting similar activities with one of its most advanced missiles.

According to The New York Times, at least one of the recent attacks on ISIS targets in Syria involved the launch of a Khaybar Shekan missile, which can reach a range of 1,450 kilometers and pose a threat to Israel. The missile boasts extremely high accuracy and capabilities that challenge defense systems…”  (They may threaten Israel, but Psalm 121 states: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.  The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.   The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.  The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.  Notice especially verse 4 – Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  During his confrontation with the prophets of Baal, Elijah mocked the prophets after they were unable to get a response from Baal.  I Kings 18:27 states: And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.  God does not sleep, and He will preserve Israel.  See the next report.)

Iran says launches satellite in new aerospace milestone

January 22, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Iran’s Revolutionary Guards launched a research satellite Saturday, a minister said, putting it into a higher orbit in a new milestone for its aerospace programme that has faced Western criticism.

The United States has repeatedly warned Iran against such launches, saying the same technology can be used for ballistic missiles, including ones designed to deliver a nuclear warhead.

The Islamic republic says its satellite and rocket launches are only for civil or defence purposes, denying any ambition to develop a nuclear weapons capability.

‘The Soraya satellite of the Iranian Space Organisation… was successfully launched with the Ghaem-100 satellite carrier of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,’ the official IRNA news agency said.

‘This is the first time that Iran has successfully placed a satellite in orbits higher than 500 kilometres (310 miles),’ IRNA said…”
