Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal: We will defeat the occupation and its new fascist government

December 26, 2022  — Israel National News reports: “Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal says that the establishment of Hamas was ‘a historic landmark on the path of the resistance in Palestine and the Al-Qassam Brigades have now become the army of all of Palestine and a support for Al-Quds (Jerusalem), Al-Aqsa, the (West) Bank, the interior (Israel) and the Diaspora.’

Speaking at an event to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Hamas held in Sidon, Lebanon, Mashaal said that Hamas ‘emphasizes our adherence to principles and foundations, the land is all of Palestine, Jerusalem, the holy places of Islam and Christianity, the right of return, the resistance, the belonging to the (Islamic) nation, freedom for prisoners, these are our basic principles… we will not abandon them regardless of the challenges.’

Mashaal further said that ‘the new Zionist government consists of the most extreme religious and nationalist right in the history of the entity’, adding that ‘Israel thinks that with its extreme government it will end our issue, but our great people, in their originality and unity, can turn this challenge into an opportunity, since every all the settlement projects were defeated, the last of which is the deal of the century.’

Abbas’ military arm: We will persist in the fight against Israel – regardless of the price

December 23, 2022  — Israel National News reports: “The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the terrorist wing of the Fatah organization, praised the terrorists who confronted IDF soldiers as they were securing the entrance of Jewish worshipers to Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem (Nablus) overnight Wednesday.

‘The defeated government is watching us and brags to the public and the people about its imaginary victories in order to raise its profile on the Israeli street, but we and you know the failures that occur with every assault on the Balata refugee camp near Joseph’s Tomb and on our city of Nablus,’ the organization said in a statement it published on Thursday.

‘Everyone saw the intensity of the pressure the occupation was under for the shooting and explosive charges that injured several soldiers, and as usual it denied any injury,’ the statement said.

‘Today, the government and the Zionist media claim that the prayer at Joseph’s Tomb was safe, and therefore, we warn the occupation against any foolish act it may commit against our Palestinian people, wherever it may be, as the reaction will be overwhelming,’ the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades warned.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh: We will bury the Zionist government

December 13, 2022  — Israel National News reports: “Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said on Monday that the Islamic movement has created a new chapter in the conflict with the Zionist enterprise by combining the management of ‘resistance’ with the management of governmental policy, and the policy does not come at the expense of the ‘resistance’.

In a speech on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Hamas, Haniyeh said that ‘Jerusalem is the heart of the conflict with the Zionist enemy, and it expresses the faith and the capital city and represents the overall title that unites our people and our (Islamic) nation in every place and time.’

In this context, Haniyeh issued a threat to Israel, saying, ‘We will never allow the Zionist plans to be implemented in Al-Aqsa Mosque or in Jerusalem in general.’

Commenting on the Israeli ‘Judaization’ policy on the Temple Mount, Haniyeh said, ‘The Zionists should not believe that the road will be paved for them with roses, but it will be paved with fire’ and added, ‘If the Zionist government believes that it can implement its plans in Jerusalem and the (West) Bank, then it is delusional.’

Haniyeh stressed that Hamas ‘will cut off the hand that will be put on Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the West Bank will become fire and flame before the occupier’ and that the Palestinian people ‘will bury this (Israeli) government on the way to eliminating the entire (Zionist) entity from the land of Palestine.’…”

UN to mark ‘Nakba Day’ – Israel’s establishment as catastrophe

December 1, 2022  — The Jerusalem Post reports: “The UN General Assembly voted Wednesday afternoon in favor of holding a commemorative event in honor of the 75th ‘Nakba Day,’ the Palestinian name for Israel’s establishment, which translates to ‘catastrophe.’

The vote was 90-30, with 47 abstentions. The United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom were among those who opposed the move. Most of the European Union also rejected the motion, save for Cyprus which supported the measure.

Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan tweeted that the UN in ‘passing such an extreme and baseless resolution, the UN is only helping to perpetuate the conflict.’

In a UN General Assembly plenum debate prior to the vote, Erdan called for the UN to ‘stop ignoring the Jewish Nakba,’ referring to the 750,000 Jews expelled from Arab and Muslim countries in the aftermath of Israel’s establishment…”

Hamas vows to ‘liberate’ Jerusalem on 35th birthday

December 8, 2022  — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Hamas announced on Wednesday the launch of a series of events in the Gaza Strip to mark the 35th anniversary of its founding. The events will include military parades and rallies in several areas of the Hamas-ruled coastal enclave and are expected to reach their peak on December 14 with a major rally in Gaza City.

This year’s anniversary comes at a time when Hamas appears to be as strong, popular and defiant as ever, especially in the Gaza Strip.

In 2006, the Islamist movement won the elections for the Palestinian parliament, the Palestinian Legislative Council. A year later, Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip through a violent coup that led to the collapse of the Palestinian Authority.

Since then, various attempts to undermine Hamas or remove it from power have been unsuccessful. In video, Iran threatens to raze Tel Aviv, destroy Dimona if Israel hits nuke sites

December 28, 2022  — The Times of Israel reports: “Iran’s state broadcaster has aired a video describing what it claims would be the response to an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear sites, warning that Israeli targets would be destroyed within minutes and that a follow-up wave of rocket attacks would ‘raze Tel Aviv.’

The video aired on Iran’s state-controlled IRIB TV2 on December 17, and was reported upon by the Washington-based Middle East Media Research Institute monitor group on Monday.

Israel has vowed to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and has repeatedly said it has the right to act in striking Iranian facilities to prevent what it sees as an existential threat.

In the clip, narrator Younes Shadlou began by noting that Israel had recently held exercises with the US to simulate an attack on Iran.

‘Let’s assume that Israeli jets manage to reach the Natanz nuclear site in one piece’ and manage to damage it, Shadlou posited, referring to a major facility buried under a mountain where Iran has installed advanced centrifuges to enrich uranium.

‘Even if they manage to leave Iran’s sky safely,’ he continued, it would take the jets ‘at least an hour’ to return to their base.
