Can you share with your understanding, Revelation 17?

D.B
Deatsville, AL

Revelation 17 portrays a woman sitting upon the beast who rules internationally. John says, 'So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns…and upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great…' (Revelation 17:35). Who is she? Clearly an amalgamation of all denominations and religions who have been left behind because of being apostate or Christ rejecting. This church reigns '…over the kings of the earth' (Revelation 17:18). It will not be church and state, but church and world unification that then plagues our planet.”

Beloved, Christ is coming soon as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Be prepared!

When and where does the Abomination of Desolation take place?

M.G
Milford, MI

The Antichrist will take control of Jewish worship midway through the Tribulation, declaring himself to be God (2 Thessalonians 2:4) and demanding worship from the Jews in their own Temple, even to the point of setting up an Image of the Beast therein. This image of the unholy one is the abomination that renders desolate all Jewish hopes (Daniel 12:11; Matthew 24:15-22). The true Jewish heart will be broken, because idolatry is forbidden in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:4). This act precipitates the judgment of God as the Temple fills with smoke and seven angels come out carrying seven plagues. The voice of Almighty God issues forth from the smoke-filled Temple, directing the angels to carry out their duties. His holiness has been offended. Mankind has worshipped a man, Antichrist, the devil in human skin . . . even bowing to his image (Matthew 24:15; Isaiah 42:8; Exodus 20:4-6). Mankind, en masse, has grossly violated God’s commandment about images during the Tribulation period and promised judgment must begin (Isaiah 42:8; Exodus 20:4-6).

Will you please explain Matthew 24:39-41. Who is the passage referring to?

J.K
Warren, OH

The verb “taken” in Matthew 24:39-41 means “taken away in judgement.” This does not apply to the Rapture of the Church when believers are caught up in the air to meet the Lord. During the Tribulation, a division will take place: Some people will perish in judgement, (be taken away), while others will remain to be taken into the kingdom. The use of “took them all away” in Matthew 24:39 makes this clear.

Did Jesus go to Hell? If so; why & what did he do there?

D.J
Detroit, MI

When Christ died he went to a place called Paradise (Hades).

Hades was the place where the souls and the spirits of all humans went until the cross. Sheol (Old Testament) and Hades (New Testament) are one and the same. In Sheol or Hades there were two compartments, one for the wicked and the other for the righteous . . .one for suffering and the other for comfort (Luke 16:22, 23). The thief on the cross went to the comfort side, or Paradise, as promised by Christ (Luke 23:43) (see Abraham’s Bosom). This is where Christ went upon His death (Acts 2:27, 31). There He ministered to His people and led captivity captive (Ephesians 4:8-10), releasing and transporting them into the third heaven of 2 Corinthians 12:2. That is why Paradise is referred to as “up” (Revelation 2:7; 2 Corinthians 12:4). So presently, the comfort side of Hades (Paradise) has been emptied by Him who has the keys of death and Hades (Revelation 20:13).

Of course, the suffering side of Hades still teems with the wicked as the unregenerate continue to die day by day and are added to its population. They have joined the rich man of Luke 16:23 and will not come out again until Judgment Day when they will meet Christ at their trial and be transferred to the final penitentiary of lost souls, Gehenna (Revelation 20:13, 14). Christ describes Hades 11 times in the New Testament: Matthew 11:23; 16:18; Luke 10:15; 16:22, 23; Acts 2:27, 31; Revelation 1:18; 6:8; 20:13, 14.

There are two places. Jesus said in John 3:36: “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. ” Jesus said in John 6:47: “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. ” He also said in John 8:24: “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: wither I go, ye cannot come”. That is eternal Hell.

What are the scriptures regarding God's love for Israel in the New Testament?

Y.S
DuBois, PA

It is God's will for all Christians to love and pray for the Jewish people. It is true that no one can be saved apart from faith in Jesus Christ (John 14:6). This is true for both Jews and Gentiles. Romans 11:26 has to do with the conversion of Israel in the future when they turn to Jesus Christ.

After the 1,000 year reign of Christ on earth, will we spend eternity on the new earth or in heaven?

M.L
West Des Moines, IA

Two Jerusalems are mentioned in Scripture (Galatians 4:25-26; Hebrews 12:22). One is the earthly home of the believers during the millennial period. The other is heavenly – the New Jerusalem, or celestial city, which hovers over the earth in space for one thousand years before settling on earth forever.

Christ has been preparing this new Jerusalem for 2,000 years (John 14:2). This magnificent masterpiece descending toward earth reminds one of the elegant beauty of a bride on her wedding day (Revelation 21:2). Verses 9-27 present a glowing description of the city.

The Almighty will handle global operations from this satellite city. The redeemed in glorified bodies will live there and travel back and forth to earth from their city in space in a moment of time. Resurrection and rapture are the only ways to obtain glorified bodies. Those with bodies of flesh, who were born during the Millennium, enter the eternal state with natural bodies and live on earth in and under the light of the Holy City (Revelation 21:24).

Does Christ save you once and for all when you accept Him as your Savior, or can you you lose your salvation?

L.S
Spring Hill, TN

Every Believer is “kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation” (I Peter 1:5) and is eternally secure in Christ. One of his favorite verses is Ephesians 4:30: “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” It is vital that we know that we've truly accepted Jesus and is ready for His soon return.

When someone dies and goes to Heaven, do they remember the loved ones they left behind? Do they know how much we miss them?

J.D
Shakopee, MN

While it appears that those in Heaven might remember their loved ones on earth; the Bible does not make it clear. True comfort comes not from knowing that they will remember us on earth, but that they are now with Jesus. Every Believer will one day see Jesus and their saved loved ones upon Christ's return. What a glorious day that will be!

Relationships with our loved ones in Heaven will be found in Matthew 22:23-30. There will be no marriages at that time. We will have glorified bodies like Christ and will know our families, but in a different way.

Is it true that accepting a computer chip for medical purposes in our current time, is taking the Mark of the Beast?

V.C
Lynchburg, VA

Concerning the mentioned computer chip implant for medical purposes; this is not the Mark at this point, but it is easy to see how mankind will accept the Mark in the near future (Revelation 14:9,11; 15:2; 16:2; 19:20; 20:4).

Please explain the following: “world without end” and “heaven and earth shall pass away.”

E.S
Camano Island, WA

For many years I believed that the earth would be destroyed at the end of the Millennium. But lately, through further study of the Word, God has brought to light some verses that state that the earth will abide forever. One of these is Ecclesiastes 1:4 which states that the earth will abide forever. Also in Psalms 104:5: “who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever”.

So, after the one thousand years of the Millennium, there will be a renovation, a purging through fire. II Peter 3:10 says “The Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up”. This means literally that the earth shall be purged with fire. This happens because when Satan is released from the pit, he will gather a multitude of people who will turn against Christ. Punishment will come and the earth is purged with fire, including heavens one and two, and that is why Revelation 21:1 says “I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away”. This is the purging through fire, but the globe still stays here because it is going to go on for ever.

Is the Antichrist before or after the Rapture?

K.G
Westland, MI

The Antichrist will not be revealed until after the rapture of the church. Christians will be taken from earth before the beginning of the Tribulation (Revelation 3:10).

I have been listening to your broadcast for years, and I love you all! Thank You! My questions is, who are the 24 elders that sit next to God in Heaven?

M.A
Kearney, NE

Who are these twenty-four elders? Some believe they represent the twenty-four groups or orders within the Levitical priesthood. This, in turn, represents all believers in Christ for, through Him as High Priest, every Christian is a member of the royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). Others believe the twenty-four elders represent the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve apostles for a total of twenty-four. In other words, they say the elders represent God’s people of all ages. This is a good possibility since Revelation 21 describes the New Jerusalem, the names of the twelve tribes inscribed on the gates, and the names of the twelve apostles found upon the twelve foundations (see verses 12-14). Regardless of the view one holds, the four and twenty elders represent the children of God in the presence of the Lord, before the horrible Tribulation begins in chapter 6.
