Putin’s plan to slowly reclaim Russia’s lost empire

January 24, 2019 — Asia Times Online reports: “Last week, Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic offered a lavish welcome to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Tens of thousands flooded Belgrade to greet Putin in front of the Orthodox Saint Sava Church, waving Serbian and Russian flags and banners praising Putin for trying to rebuild a Russo-centric, pan-Slavic world and to counter global Americanism.

Serbia – despite its new pro-Western leadership and EU ambitions – has deep historical ties with the Slavic ‘big brother’ that has supported Belgrade over the centuries, most recently during the 1999 NATO bombing campaign.

It is the only European nation that is truly close to Russia, with common Orthodox and Slavic roots, a daily Moscow-Belgrade train and a bilateral visa-free entry agreement. Putin pledged to invest US$1.4 billion in gas pipeline infrastructure for Serbia, which already buys all its natural gas from Russia.

But ties extend far beyond cultural and ethnic similarities, to Moscow’s wider geopolitical strategies.

The Belgrade love fest is just another brick in the giant international structure Russian officials label Russkiy Mir, or Russian World.

Moscow media cover ‘Russkiy Mir’ and conferences of ‘Russian compatriots’ on a daily basis. Though the USSR has dissolved, step by step, Putin’s Kremlin is bringing the vast lands of its former empire back into the fold.

‘Russia has been a great power for centuries, and remains so,’ Putin declared in front of Duma, or parliament, deputies on August 16, 1999, as he sought their approval for his prime ministership. ‘It has always had and still has legitimate zones of interest abroad in both the former Soviet lands and elsewhere.’…”  (Vladimir Putin has been in power as either the Prime Minister or President of Russia since 1999.  Constitutionally, he will be required to step down from power in 2024, however, he could do what he did in 2008 and groom a successor like Dmitri Medvedev, whom he controlled, and seek to become president again in 2030.  In essence, setting himself up as ruler for life in Russia, much as Xi Jinping is set to be ruler for life in China.  Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 predict the union of Russia and China [Revelation 16:12; Daniel 11:44] as leaders in the battle for the greatest war in history called Armageddon – Revelation 16:16.  Revelation 9:14 – 18 pictures its upcoming disastrous results.”)

Russia’s New Hypersonic Nuclear Weapon

January 29, 2019 — SpaceDaily.com reports: “Last month Russia tested a new hypersonic weapon designed to sneak under current U.S. ballistic missile defenses. The Avangard, a winged glider weapon boosted high into the atmosphere by a ballistic missile, descends on its target at speeds in excess of 6.7 km/sec.

This is 15,000 MPH, almost the speed of an orbiting satellite. According to Russian news sources, Avangard will enter Russian service this year. Check YouTube for footage of the test launch.

Russian President Putin announced this and other new nuclear weapons programs last year. This weapon included the ‘Poseidon’ Nuclear Apocalypse Torpedo and the Burevestnik Nuclear-Powered Cruise Missile.

A rocket boosts Avangard gliders very high into the atmosphere, but unlike regular ICBM warheads, Avangard doesn’t go all the way out of the atmosphere. Instead, at a preset altitude, the booster fairing is released. Then Avangard is released and it proceeds as a glider to its target at hypersonic speeds of up to Mach 20. During its recent test the Avangard traveled more than 6,000 km. Russia is apparently creating a host of new nuclear weapons to get around ballistic missile defenses. For example, ‘Poseidon’ would travel into U.S. territory underwater in order to deliver a thermonuclear strike…”   (Nuclear war is part of the battle of the ages – see Revelation 9:18. U.S. senator warns: China’s preparing for World War III

January 31, 2019 — News.com.au reports: “Republican Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma has said what many fear: China’s military build-up in the South China Sea looks as though it is ‘preparing for World War III’.

His blunt statement came during a Senate hearing yesterday discussing the new challenges being presented by Russia and China.

And Senator Inhofe isn’t happy about how the world has got to where it’s at.

He says the US sat back and watched as China staked its claim on the contested reefs and rocks, and did nothing as it turned them into artificial islands bristling with weapons and fortifications.

And the way it has muscled-in on this disputed territory has resulted in a significant change to the balance of power in South East Asia.

‘It’s like you’re preparing for World War III,’ Inhofe said. ‘You’re talking to our allies over there and you wonder whose side they’re going to be on.’

He says the fragility of the situation may not be fully appreciated by most US citizens, or the peoples of the world.

‘I’m concerned our message is not getting across,’ said Inhofe, who took over the committee this month…”  (China will become a basic partner with Russia for the rapidly approaching battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. Russia will lead invasion number one – Ezekiel 38 & 39. China will lead invasion number two – Revelation 16:12; Revelation 9:14 – 16. Then all nations will come against Jerusalem for the final invasion at which point Jesus will return to stop the bloodshed and set up his eternal kingdom upon earth – “[He gathers] all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken… Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south” – Zechariah 14:2 – 4. U.S. General Warns of Russian, Chinese Inroads in Africa

February 8, 2019 — Voice of America News reports: “Fears that Washington is increasingly losing influence across the globe are starting to come to fruition in Africa, where a top military official says Russia is playing on perceived U.S. weaknesses to gain leverage and resources.

The most alarming inroads have come in African countries where leaders are seeking to consolidate power, the commander of U.S. Africa Command, Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, told lawmakers Thursday, adding Russia seems to have its sights set on areas that could give them an edge over U.S. allies.

‘It’s, I think, clear that’s their strategy along the northern part of Africa, southern part of NATO, the Mediterranean, to have influence inside of Libya, for example,’ Waldhauser told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

But he warned the Kremlin’s designs go even further, pointing to Russian inroads in the Central African Republic, where the Russian military firm Wagner has stationed about 175 mercenaries…”

Chinese, Russian Anti-Satellite Tech Puts US ‘Space Assets at Risk’

January 25, 2019 — SpaceDaily.com reports: “A new report released by the US National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) on Wednesday is claiming that Chinese and Russian military forces are using advanced and counterspace technologies for warfighting strategies in an effort to ‘challenge US superiority.’

The 25-page document, which includes graphics, assessments and projections, notes that Chinese military units have already begun training with anti-satellite missiles, and that Russia is ‘probably also developing an anti-satellite missile.’

‘These missiles can destroy US and allied space systems in low Earth orbit, making intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and communications satellites vulnerable,’ the report states, adding that both Russia and China are looking into counterspace directed-energy weapons that are ‘designed to produce reversible or non-reversible effects against space systems by emitting highly focused radiofrequency or laser energy.’

The NASIC report lists a range of potential space attacks, which includes jamming global navigation and communication satellites used for military operations; using anti-satellite missiles to shoot down low Earth orbit satellites; and physical attacks against ground sites and infrastructure that support space operations…”
