RUSSIA AND THE KINGS OF THE EAST

Putin vows to support North Korea against the United States

June 18, 2024Reuters reports: “Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed on Tuesday to deepen trade and security ties with North Korea and to support it against the United States, as he headed to the reclusive nuclear-armed country for the first time in 24 years.

The U.S. and its Asian allies are trying to work out just how far Russia will go in support of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, whose country is the only one to have conducted nuclear weapon tests in the 21st century.

In a signal that Russia, a veto-wielding member of the United Nations Security Council, is reassessing its entire approach to North Korea, Putin praised Pyongyang for resisting what he said was U.S. economic pressure, blackmail and threats.

In an article published by North Korean state media, Putin praised ‘Comrade’ Kim, and promised to ‘jointly resist illegitimate unilateral restrictions’, to develop trade and strengthen security across Eurasia.

‘Washington, refusing to implement previously reached agreements, continuously puts forward new, increasingly stringent and obviously unacceptable demands,’ Putin said in the article, printed on the front page of North Korea’s Rodong Sinmun, the ruling Workers’ Party mouthpiece…”  (Vladimir Putin has been in power as either the Prime Minister or President of Russia since 1999.  On August 16, 1999, in front of Duma, or parliament, he declared: ‘Russia has been a great power for centuries, and remains so.’  ‘IT HAS ALWAYS HAD AND STILL HAS LEGITIMATE ZONES OF INTEREST ABROAD IN BOTH THE FORMER SOVIET LANDS AND ELSEWHERE’ [emphasis mine]. In 2019, Asia Times Online reported of the lavish welcome Putin received in Serbia.  They stated: “Serbia – despite its new pro-Western leadership and EU ambitions – has deep historical ties with the Slavic ‘big brother’ that has supported Belgrade over the centuries, most recently during the 1999 NATO bombing campaign.  It is the only European nation that is truly close to Russia, with common Orthodox and Slavic roots, a daily Moscow-Belgrade train and a bilateral visa-free entry agreement. Putin pledged to invest US$1.4 billion in gas pipeline infrastructure for Serbia, which already buys all its natural gas from Russia.  But ties extend far beyond cultural and ethnic similarities, to Moscow’s wider geopolitical strategies.  The Belgrade love fest is just another brick in the giant international structure Russian officials label Russkiy Mir, or Russian World.  Moscow media cover ‘Russkiy Mir’ and conferences of ‘Russian compatriots’ on a daily basis. Though the USSR has dissolved, step by step, Putin’s Kremlin is bringing the vast lands of its former empire back into the fold.”  Notice the emphasized line above – “both the former Soviet Lands and elsewhere…”)

Russia, North Korea Agree on Mutual Assistance in Case of Aggression

June 19, 2024Sputnik International reports: “Earlier in the day, Putin said that ‘a new fundamental document’ that will form the basis of the Russia-North Korea relationship for years to come has been prepared.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Wednesday. The Russia-North Korea agreement implies mutual assistance in case of aggression against participants, Putin explained.

The document was inked during the face-to-face talks between the two, which were preceded by the Putin-Kim negotiations with the participation of delegations earlier in the day.

Putin also stressed that Moscow appreciates North Korea’s consistent and unwavering support for Russian policy, including in connection with the Ukraine crisis…”  (Russia in Bible prophecy is the main instigator of death and suffering during Armageddon – Revelation 16:16.  Ezekiel chapters 38 & 39, which Dr. Van Impe proclaimed for sixty years, aided by Oriental and Islamic nations, bring total chaos and atomic devastation upon the world.  Worse yes, it’s just ahead of us.  Every nation he included in World War III is forming exactly as taught this global blood bath six decades ago.  The only good news is that the Rapture precedes Armageddon – Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth – Revelation 3:10.  Then our deliverance as believers – Revelation 4:1 and our joy because of missing Armageddon.)

North Korea-Russia treaty calls for mutual military aid ‘without delay’ in event of war

June 21, 2024SpaceWar.com reports: “A treaty signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during their summit in Pyongyang called for extending military aid ‘without delay’ if either country is attacked, according to the full text published by the North’s state-run media Thursday.

‘In the event that either party is in a state of war as a result of armed aggression by individual or multiple states, the other side shall provide military and other assistance without delay by all means at its disposal in accordance with Article 51 of the U.N. Charter,’ the agreement, published by Korean Central News Agency, said.

The U.N. Charter’s Article 51 stipulates ‘the inherent right of individual or collective self-defense if an armed attack occurs against a Member of the United Nations.’

The two leaders signed the treaty on Wednesday night during a brief visit by Putin, his first to North Korea in 24 years. The pact revives a 1961 mutual defense clause between the Cold War allies that expired when the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991…”  (Ezekiel 38:5 predicts that Russia, the Orient, and Persia [which changed its name to Iran in 1932] will see millions destroyed through atomic warfare in the Latter Years and Latter Days – Ezekiel 38:8, 16.  This battle is described in Revelation 9:14 – 18: Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.  See the next two reports.)

Russia and Vietnam vow to strengthen ties as Putin visits

June 20, 2024Voice of America News reports: “Russia and Vietnam pledged Thursday to deepen ties as President Vladimir Putin made a state visit aimed at bolstering his alliances to counter Moscow’s growing isolation over the war in Ukraine.

Putin traveled to Vietnam, a close ally of Moscow since the days of the Cold War, from a summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, where he won a pledge of ‘full support’ on Ukraine and signed a mutual defense pact.

The Russian leader did not receive such a clear public declaration of support in Hanoi, but Vietnamese President To Lam indicated a desire to boost defense cooperation.

‘The two sides want to push up cooperation in defense and security, how to deal with non-traditional security challenges on the basis of international law, for peace and security in the region and the world,’ Lam told reporters after talks with Putin.

Moscow has been Vietnam’s main arms supplier for decades, accounting for more than 80 percent of imports between 1995 and 2023, but orders have dropped off in recent years as international sanctions related to the Ukraine conflict have intensified…”

Russia Teases ‘Big Treaty’ with Iran

June 28, 2024Breitbart.com reports: “Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a press conference on Wednesday that Moscow is preparing to sign a ‘big treaty with Iran.’

She implied the Iran treaty might be even more expansive than the security pact Russia signed with North Korea, which caused great alarm among the free world and considerable unease in China.

‘Now we are working on a treaty — probably you have heard about it, and I ask you once again not to use the formula ‘the same as the one with North Korea’ — now the work is underway on the big treaty with Iran,’ Zakharova said.

Several other Russian officials previously hinted that a deal with Iran that has been at least two years in the making could be signed soon. Both the Iranian and Russian foreign ministers declared their commitment to finalize an agreement at the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Nizhny Novgorod in June. BRICS is an economic bloc headed by China and Russia…”
