Supreme Court Overrules Roe v. Wade in Dobbs Decision – Returns Abortion to State Lawmakers
June 24, 2022 – Breitbart.com reports: “The Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade on Friday, holding in the Dobbs case that the Constitution does not include a right to abortion and returning the issue of abortion laws and regulations to state legislatures.
Justice Samuel Alito wrote for the Supreme Court in Friday’s 5-4 decision:
Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return the authority to the people and their elected representatives.
Roe was handed down in 1973 in a 7-2 decision, holding that the U.S. Constitution includes a constitutional right to abortion, despite the fact that abortion is not found in the text, structure, or history of the Constitution, and the nation went more than 180 years without ever noticing it existed. It has been one of the most divisive legal issues in American history…” (We thank the Lord for this decision by the Supreme Court. The Bible is very clear about children in the womb. Samson told Delilah …I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb… – Judges 16:17. David stated: For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them – Psalm 139:13-17. God told Jeremiah Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations – Jeremiah 1:5. Luke 1:41 – 45 states: And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. See the next report.)
Mike Pence on SCOTUS Overturning Roe: ‘Today, Life Won’
June 24, 2022 – Breitbart.com reports: “Former Vice President Mike Pence told Breitbart News exclusively on Friday he is thrilled the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and shifted the battle for life and against abortion back to the states.
‘Today, Life Won. By overturning Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court of the United States has given the American people a new beginning for life, and I commend the justices in the majority for having the courage of their convictions,’ Pence said in response to the 5-4 decision from the U.S. Supreme Court in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case.
‘By returning the question of abortion to the states and to the people, this Supreme Court has righted an historic wrong and reaffirmed the right of the American people to govern themselves at the state level in a manner consistent with their values and aspirations,’ Pence continued in the statement…”
Biden calls on Congress to restore Roe v. Wade protections as federal law: ‘This is not over’
June 24, 2022 – FoxNews.com reports: “President Biden on Friday urged Congress to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade by codifying abortion rights into federal law after the Supreme Court Friday overturned the landmark decision, while urging protesters to remain peaceful and saying ‘violence is never acceptable.’
The president, from the White House Friday, slammed the high court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which protected ‘a woman’s right to choose’ and ‘her right to make intensely personal decisions with her doctor, free from interference of politics.’
Biden said Roe v. Wade ‘reaffirmed basic principles of equality that women have the power to control their own destiny, and to reinforce the fundamental right of privacy.’
The president also said Roe v. Wade ‘was a correct decision’ on a ‘complex matter through a careful balance between a woman’s right to choose.’
‘Let me be very clear and unambiguous: the only way we can secure a woman’s right to choose—the balance that existed—is for Congress to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade as federal law,’ Biden said. ‘No executive action from the president can do that.’…” (These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren– Proverbs 6:16-19 [emphasis mine]. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them – Romans 1:29-32.)
