Paris: 12 Killed in Offices of Paper that ‘Mocked Mohammed’

January 7, 2015 — Israel National News reports: “Gunfire erupted in central Paris at the offices of satirical news magazine Charlie Hebdo, police confirmed Wednesday. Officials confirmed 12 fatalities. Two of the dead are reportedly police and ten are journalists. Ten people are reported injured, five of them critically…

At least two or three gunmen are believed to have been involved, according to Le Figaro. They were said to be firing Kalashnikov semi-automatic assault rifles. According to the paper, the gunmen are on the run after a shootout with policemen.

France Info radio has been speaking to eyewitnesses, several of whom are journalists from a press agency located in the same building as the Charlie Hebdo offices.

‘We heard shouting in the street,’ one of them, Benoit Bringer, told the station. ‘We saw hooded men carrying Kalashnikovs enter the building. We called the police. After a few minutes we heard heavy firing, a lot of firing. We went upstairs onto the roof.

‘And then after about 10 minutes we saw two armed men come out into the street. Three policemen arrived on bikes but had to leave because the men were armed, obviously … There was a lot more shouting in the street, a lot more gunshots. The attackers took off in a car.’…” (I stated in a recent telecast “I will never burn your Koran or make a mockery of your Allah and his prophet.” Doing this brings a fatwa [death sentence] upon those who do. January 10, 2015 — CNN reports: “French law enforcement officers have been told to erase their social media presence and to carry their weapons at all times because terror sleeper cells have been activated over the last 24 hours in the country, a French police source who attended a briefing Saturday told CNN terror analyst Samuel Laurent.

Ahmedy Coulibaly, a suspect killed Friday during a deadly kosher market hostage siege, had made several phone calls about targeting police officers in France, according to the source.

The alert came amid word that the lone remaining suspect wanted in connection with a terrorism spree — Hayat Boumeddiene — entered Turkey on January 2, a Turkish prime ministry source told CNN Saturday.

French Premier Declares ‘War’ on Radical Islam as Paris Girds for Rally

January 10, 2015 — The New York Times reports: “Prime Minister Manuel Valls declared Saturday that France was at war with radical Islam after the harrowing sieges that led to the deaths of three gunmen and four hostages the day before. New details emerged about the bloody final confrontations, and security forces remained on high alert.

‘It is a war against terrorism, against jihadism, against radical Islam, against everything that is aimed at breaking fraternity, freedom, solidarity,’ Mr. Valls said during a speech in Évry, south of Paris.

The authorities started the day hunting for the companion of one of the killers, only to learn later that she appeared to have fled to Turkey and then probably to Syria days before the first assault in Paris on Wednesday. Paris attacks: Millions rally for unity in France

January 11, 2015 — BBC News reports: “More than three million people have taken part in unity marches across France after 17 people died during three days of deadly attacks in Paris.

Up to 1.6m are estimated to have taken to the streets of the French capital.

More than 40 world leaders joined the start of the Paris march, linking arms in an act of solidarity.

The marchers wanted to demonstrate unity after the attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, police officers, and a kosher supermarket.

Muslim MP: ‘Lazy, Wrong’ to say Paris Attacks Not Islam

January 12, 2015 — Israel National News reports: “British Culture Secretary Sajid Javid, who is himself of Muslim heritage, responded to the bloody jihadist terror attacks in Paris last week that left a total of 17 dead, saying it is ‘lazy and wrong’ to say the attacks are unrelated to Islam.

‘There is no getting away from the fact that the people carrying out these acts – what we have seen just horrifically this week in Paris, what has happened in London and Madrid – these people call themselves Muslims,’ Javid said, reports the British The Telegraph.

‘The lazy answer would be to say that this has got nothing whatsoever to do with Islam or Muslims and that should be the end of that. That would be lazy and wrong,’ said Javid. ‘You can’t get away from the fact that these people are using Islam, taking a peaceful religion and using it as a tool to carry out their activities.’
