Xi: China’s most powerful leader since Mao
August 31, 2022 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Xi Jinping, who is soon expected to be anointed for an unprecedented third term in office as China’s ruling Communist Party (CCP) holds its 20th Congress, has become his country’s most powerful leader since Mao Zedong.
He joined the pantheon of Chinese leadership in 2012, two decades after bursting onto the scene as a graft-fighting governor.
The country’s rubber-stamp parliament boosted Xi’s considerable power in 2018 when it approved a constitutional amendment abolishing presidential term limits.
The move allowed Xi, now aged 69, to remain in power for as long as he wishes, and is the latest feather in the cap of a Communist ‘princeling’ who is remaking China in his own image.
Xi has amassed seemingly unchecked power and a level of officially-stoked adulation unseen since Communist China’s founder Mao…” (In 2017 China elevated the stature of President Xi Jinping putting him on par with Chairman Mao Zedong who founded the People’s Republic of China in 1949, making him in essence emperor for life, he can stay in power as long as his health allows. In November of 2017 China told Christians to replace images of Jesus with images of President Jinping in an effort to transform believers in religion into believers of the Communist Party of China. President Jinping should read the book of Daniel to see what happened to a king who elevated himself: The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws. And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? – Daniel 4:30-35. China’s Communist Party to hold Congress set to cement Xi’s rule
September 1, 2022 — SinoDaily.com reports: “China’s ruling Communist Party will begin its 20th Party Congress on October 16, state media reported Tuesday, a landmark meeting at which President Xi Jinping is expected to be anointed as the country’s most powerful leader in decades.
The congress in the capital Beijing comes as Xi faces significant political headwinds, including an ailing economy, deteriorating relations with the United States and a strict zero-Covid policy that has accelerated China’s inward turn from the world.
It is widely expected to see Xi reinstated as president for a third term — unprecedented in the contemporary era.
It will also see the unveiling of a new top leadership line-up, as Xi consolidates his grip on the party and his position as the most powerful Chinese leader since the country’s founder Mao Zedong…”
India unveils first homemade aircraft carrier, with eye on China
September 2, 2022 — SpaceWar.com reports: “India debuted its first locally made aircraft carrier on Friday, a milestone in government efforts to reduce its dependence on foreign arms and counter China’s growing military assertiveness in the region.
The INS Vikrant, one of the world’s biggest naval vessels at a length of 262 metres (860 feet), will formally enter service after 17 years of construction and tests.
It inherits the name of a retired carrier famed for enforcing a blockade against Pakistan’s naval forces during the 1971 Bangladeshi independence war.
‘Today, INS Vikrant has filled the country with a new confidence, and has created a new confidence in the country,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the ship’s commissioning ceremony in southern Kerala state.
‘We’ve joined the league of those select nations who can construct such large aircraft carriers at home,’ he added…” (China is prophesied to be a top contender and bloody warrior during the battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. Chinese moves on Taiwan rattle remote Japanese island
September 15, 2022 — SinoDaily.com reports: “Life may seem tranquil on Japan’s remote Yonaguni island, where wild horses graze and tourists dive to spot hammerhead sharks, but China’s recent huge military exercises have rattled residents.
The western island is just 110 kilometres (70 miles) from Taiwan, and a Chinese missile fired during the drills last month landed not far from Yonaguni’s shores.
‘Everyone is on edge,’ Shigenori Takenishi, head of the island’s fishing association, told AFP.
‘Even if we don’t talk about it, we still have the memory of the fear we felt, of the shock.’
He told fishing boats to stay in port during the drills that followed US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan in defiance of Beijing’s warnings.
The incident was the latest reminder of how growing Chinese assertiveness has affected Yonaguni, shifting debate about a contentious military presence on the island…”
Biden says ‘yes,’ US forces would help defend Taiwan; China cries foul
September 19, 2022 — SinoDaily.com reports: “President Joe Biden said Sunday that US forces would defend Taiwan against a Chinese invasion, while the White House said Washington’s policy was unchanged.
Asked by the CBS ‘60 Minutes’ program whether US troops would defend Taiwan, Biden said ‘yes,’ if it were ‘an unprecedented attack.’
This was not the first time that Biden has declared US forces would take part in a war between China and Taiwan, with the White House appearing to walk back his comments afterward. The previous time was in May during a visit to Japan.
That time, Biden was also asked whether he’d commit US troops to such a situation and again he said ‘yes.’
‘That’s the commitment we made,’ he said…”
