North Korea Ends Policy of Reunification with South Korea
January 16, 2024 — Voice of America News reports: “North Korea is abandoning its policy of seeking reunification with South Korea.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called for the constitution to be revised to say that the South is the country’s ‘primary foe and invariable principle enemy’ during a speech Monday before the Supreme People’s Assembly, the North’s rubber-stamp parliament, according to state-run Korean Central News Agency.
Kim said the constitution should also include plans for ‘occupying, subjugating and reclaiming’ the South if another war breaks out between the two bitter rivals.
He said North Korea has no intentions of starting a war, but has no intentions of avoiding one either.
The parliament announced Tuesday that it was abolishing two government agencies responsible for reunification and economic cooperation initiatives, as well as the agency that promoted South Korean visits to the North’s Mount Kumgang resort.
Kim ordered the destruction of all symbols of North-South reunification, including the ‘Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification’ in the capital Pyongyang built by his late father, Kim Jong Il, which the younger Kim described as ‘an eyesore.’
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol blasted Kim’s comments Tuesday during a meeting with his cabinet as ‘anti-national and anti-historical’ and vowed that North Korea will be punished ‘multiple times as hard’ if it attacks the South…” (China and North Korea are prophesied to be top contenders and bloody warriors during the battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. North Korea’s Kim would not hesitate in ‘annihilating’ South: KCNA
January 10, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called for a strengthened nuclear deterrent and warned he would have no hesitation in ‘annihilating’ the rival South, while touring major weapons factories, state media reported Wednesday.
Labeling South Korea the ‘principal enemy’, he said Pyongyang’s priority should be to ‘bolster up the military capabilities for self-defence and the nuclear war deterrent first of all’, according to the official Korean Central News Agency.
Relations between the two Koreas are at one of their lowest points in decades, after Kim enshrined the country’s status as a nuclear power into the constitution and test-fired several advanced intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Kim said that while the North — formally known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) — would not ‘unilaterally’ trigger a confrontation, it had ‘no intention of avoiding a war as well’, according to KCNA.
‘If the ROK dares attempt to use armed forces against the DPRK or threaten its sovereignty and security and such opportunity comes, we will have no hesitation in annihilating the ROK by mobilizing all means and forces in our hands,’ KCNA reported, using an acronym for the southern Republic of Korea…” (Nuclear war is coming – Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. This conflict called Armageddon is described in Revelation 9:14 – 18. See the next report.)
North Korean leader: Mobilize powerful means to destroy the US and South Korea
January 1, 2024 — Israel National News reports: “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un told the country’s military commanders that the most powerful means must be mobilized to destroy the United States and South Korea if they choose military confrontation, Reuters reported on Sunday night, citing North Korea’s state news agency.
Kim said the danger of an armed confrontation on the Korean peninsula is fast becoming a reality because of hostile maneuvers by the enemies including the United States, requiring the country to ‘sharpen the sword’ to protect itself.
‘If they choose military confrontation and set the fire, we must mobilize all the most powerful means … to deal a crushing blow and completely destroy them,’ KCNA state news agency quoted Kim as saying…”
North Korean leader’s sister jeers at Seoul; boasts of nuclear prowess
January 3, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, mocked South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol as ‘stupid’ and sarcastically praised his hardline policies for giving a boost to Pyongyang’s own weapons program in a New Year’s greeting directed at Seoul.
Yoon ‘deserves to be praised by us as the ‘top-class person’ who made a significant ‘contribution’ to building up the self-defensive and irresistible military muscle on the part of the DPRK,’ Kim said in a statement carried late Tuesday night by state-run Korean Central News Agency…
‘It is much easier to deal with a stupid, honest man who has shown his hostility against the enemy than a wicked man with honey in his mouth and a sword in his heart,’ she said.
Kim referenced the New Year’s address made by Yoon in which he vowed to ‘build peace through strength’ and accelerate defensive readiness alongside Washington and Tokyo.
‘It will not be a submissive peace that is dependent on the goodwill of the adversary,’ Yoon said.
‘By the first half of this year, we will complete the enhanced ROK-U.S. extended deterrence system to fundamentally deter any North Korean nuclear and missile threat,’ he added, using the official initialism for South Korea.
Extended deterrence is the U.S. commitment to use all capabilities, including nuclear, to defend South Korea from the North’s threats.
In her statement, Kim called Yoon’s pledge to complete the extended deterrence system a ‘valuable gift.’
His comment ‘gave us again the justification and validity to further put spurs to securing more overwhelming nuclear combat capability,’ she said…” (Kim Jong-un, his sister, and recently his daughter, Ju-ae, who appeared with him twice recently raising speculation about possible succession, are following in the footsteps of Kim Jong-il and Kim il-sung in seeking nuclear weapons. In 1993, President Bill Clinton spoke in South Korea and stated that if North Korea gained and used a nuclear weapon, the U.S. would quickly and overwhelming retaliate, and it would mean the end of their country as they know it. President George W. Bush named North Korea as one of the three-part ‘axis of evil’ along with Iran and Iraq in 2002. In 2014, President Barack Obama warned North Korea that the U.S. would not hesitate to use military might to defend our allies against this ‘pariah state’. And in August 2017, President Donald Trump stated: “North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.” It is believed that North Korea developed nuclear weapons in 2004. See the next two reports.)
Kim Jong Un visits missile launcher factory, warns of ‘military showdown’
January 8, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un toured a factory producing mobile launchers for intercontinental ballistic missiles, state media reported Friday, while ordering increased preparations for a ‘military showdown with the enemy.’
Kim visited the transporter erector launcher, or TEL, facility with his young daughter Ju-ae as well as senior officials including his sister Kim Yo Jong, propaganda chief Ri Il Hwan and close aide Jo Yong Won.
He called the strategic missile TELs ‘the top priority for bolstering up the national defense capabilities,’ according to state-run Korean Central News Agency.
Kim urged production to be ‘pushed forward … nonstop, given the prevailing grave situation that requires the country to be more firmly prepared for a military showdown with the enemy.’
Tensions remain high on the Korean Peninsula, with the North doubling down on its U.N.-banned nuclear and missile programs while allies Seoul and Washington boost military cooperation.
Photos carried by KCNA showed TELs mounted with what appear to be Hwasong-17 and Hwasong-18 ICBMs, both believed capable of reaching anywhere on the U.S. mainland…”
South Korea Views Daughter of North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un as His Likely Successor
January 5, 2024 — Voice of America News reports: “The young daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is seen as her father’s likely heir apparent, South Korea’s spy agency said Thursday, its first such assessment on the preteen who was unveiled to the outside world a little more than a year ago.
There has been intense outside debate and speculation about her, reportedly about 10 years old and named Ju Ae, since she made her first public appearance in November 2022, when she watched a long-range missile test launch with her father.
The girl has since accompanied her father to a slew of major public events, with state media calling her Kim Jong Un’s ‘most beloved’ or ‘respected’ child and churning out footage and photos proving her rising political standing and closeness with her father…”
North Korea Stresses Alignment With Russia Against US
January 23, 2024 — Voice of America News reports: “North Korea said Sunday it has agreed to further strategic and tactical cooperation with Russia to establish a ‘new multi-polarized international order,’ as the two countries work to build a united front in the face of their separate, intensifying tensions with the United States.
In describing North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui’s meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minster Sergey Lavrov in Moscow last week, the North’s Foreign Ministry said Putin also reaffirmed his willingness to visit Pyongyang and said that could come at an ‘early date.’
North Korea has been actively strengthening its ties with Russia, highlighted by leader Kim Jong Un’s September visit to Russia for a summit with Putin. North Korean-Russian Military Cooperation Could Threaten Global Security
January 1, 2024 — Voice of America News reports: “The renewed military cooperation between North Korea and Russia in 2023 could increase threats to global security in coming years, analysts said.
As Russia’s Ukraine war approaches the second anniversary of the February 2022 invasion, Moscow has turned to North Korea for help in replenishing its depleted stockpile of arms.
In exchange, Russia has suggested it will help develop weapons that Pyongyang wants, including a spy satellite.
North Korea claimed on November 28 that a satellite it launched into orbit the week before had taken photos of critical U.S. sites, including the Norfolk Naval Station, the Newport News shipyard, the White House and the Pentagon.
The South Korean intelligence agency believes Pyongyang was able to launch the satellite only because of technological assistance from Russia, according to South Korean lawmakers who were briefed by the agency in late November. Previous launch attempts failed in May and August…”
Xi: China Will ‘Surely Be Reunified’ With Taiwan
January 2, 2024 — Voice of America News reports: “Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a New Year’s address that China would ‘surely be reunified’ with the self-ruled territory of Taiwan, renewing Beijing’s threat to militarily take over the island but setting no timetable for gaining control.
Xi’s remarks came just ahead of Taiwan’s January 13 presidential and parliamentary elections that China has described as a choice between war and peace.
William Lai, who currently serves as vice president from the ruling Democratic People’s Party, is the presidential front-runner, but China considers him a ‘separatist’ and has accused him and Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen of trying to provoke a Chinese attack on the island.
Taiwan split from China amid civil war in 1949, but Beijing continues to regard the island as Chinese territory and has long coveted Taiwan’s technology-heavy economy even as the island governs itself. China has regularly sent fighter jets on flights in airspace close to the island and warships near Taiwanese waters…” (China will become a basic partner with Russia for the rapidly approaching battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. Russia will lead invasion number one – Ezekiel 38 & 39. China will lead invasion number two – Revelation 16:12; Revelation 9:14 – 16. Then all nations will come against Jerusalem for the final invasion at which point Jesus will return to stop the bloodshed and set up his eternal kingdom upon earth – [He gathers] all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken… Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south – Zechariah 14:2 – 4. Then Psalm 2:6 occurs as God the Father says: …I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion [Jerusalem]. See the next two reports)
China says ‘reunification’ with Taiwan remains ‘inevitable’ after vote
January 15, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “China said ‘reunification’ with Taiwan remained ‘inevitable’ after president-elect Lai Ching-te won Saturday’s pivotal election on the self-ruled island that Beijing claims as its own.
Lai, branded by China as a threat to peace, won an unprecedented third consecutive term for Taiwan’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) after he pitched himself as the defender of the island’s democratic way of life.
In a statement issued after Lai emerged as the winner, Beijing’s Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Chen Binhua said in a statement that the vote ‘will not impede the inevitable trend of China’s reunification’, according to state news agency Xinhua.
The results of the vote, Chen said, showed that the DPP ‘cannot represent the mainstream public opinion on the island’.
Chen also said the vote ‘will not change the basic landscape and development trend of cross-Strait relations’.
Beijing’s stance on ‘realising national reunification remains consistent, and our determination is as firm as rock’, he said, adding that ‘Taiwan is China’s Taiwan’.
He said Beijing ‘firmly oppose(s) the separatist activities aimed at ‘Taiwan independence’ as well as foreign interference’.
The election was watched closely by both Beijing and Washington, Taiwan’s main military partner, as the two powers tussle for influence in the strategically vital region…”
China FM warns Taiwan independence moves will be ‘harshly punished’ after poll
January 16, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “China’s top diplomat warned Sunday that any steps towards Taiwan’s independence would be ‘harshly punished’, after the self-ruled island defied Beijing’s warnings and chose pro-sovereignty candidate Lai Ching-te as president.
Voters on the island spurned Beijing’s repeated calls not to vote for Lai, delivering a comfortable victory for a man China’s ruling Communist Party sees as a dangerous separatist.
Beijing, which claims Taiwan as its territory and has never renounced force to bring it under its control, responded to Lai’s victory by saying it would not change the ‘inevitable trend of China’s reunification’.
‘If anyone on the island of Taiwan thinks of going for independence, they will be trying to split apart China’s territory, and will certainly be harshly punished by both history and the law,’ Wang Yi said in a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry in Cairo.
‘This is a dead end,’ he added.
‘No matter what the results of the election are, they cannot change the basic fact that there is only one China and Taiwan is a part of it,’ Wang said Sunday…”
