China flexes muscles with show of submarine force

SpaceWar.com reports: “Beijing has put its nuclear-powered submarine fleet on public display, with state media Tuesday [10/29/13] touting the move as unprecedented and necessary to show other countries China’s strike capabilities as territorial tensions mount.

In an overt declaration of China’s high-seas strength, several state-run papers ran front-page stories on the four-decade-old submarine fleet, while state broadcaster CCTV has devoted much airtime in recent days to its drills and exercises.

China’s first nuclear-powered submarine was launched in 1970, the Global Times said, but had not been properly taken into account by others.

‘China is powerful in possessing a credible second-strike nuclear capability,’ it said in an editorial Tuesday, adding: ‘Some countries haven’t taken this into serious consideration when constituting their China policy, leading to a frivolous attitude toward China in public opinion.’

Inside China: Nuclear submarines capable of widespread attack on U.S.

The Washington Times reports: “Chinese state-run media revealed for the first time this week [10/28/13] that Beijing’s nuclear submarines can attack American cities as a means to counterbalance U.S. nuclear deterrence in the Pacific.

On Monday, leading media outlets including China Central TV, the People’s Daily, the Global Times, the PLA Daily, the China Youth Daily and the Guangmin Daily ran identical, top-headlined reports about the ‘awesomeness’ of the People’s Liberation Army navy’s strategic submarine force.

‘This is the first time in 42 years since the establishment of our navy’s strategic submarine force that we reveal on such a large scale the secrets of our first-generation underwater nuclear force,’ the Global Times said in a lengthy article titled ‘China for the First Time Possesses Effective Underwater Nuclear Deterrence against the United States.’

The article features 30 photos and graphics detailing, among other things, damage projections for Seattle and Los Angeles after being hit by Chinese nuclear warheads and the deadly radiation that would spread all the way to Chicago…”

Report: Pyongyang Developing EMP Bomb

Israel National News reports: “According to French press agency AFP, South Korea’s intelligence services claim that North Korea is using Russian technology to develop nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons aimed at paralyzing Seoul’s military electronic equipment.

Seoul’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) said in a recent report to parliament that the North had purchased Russian electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weaponry in order to develop its own versions of the weapon, for possible use against South Korea.

EMP weapons are detonated at high altitudes to damage computers and other electronic equipment across a very large territory, effectively sending the affected area into the Stone Age without directly killing anyone.

Arutz Sheva analyst Mark Langfan, who has been warning of the EMP threat for a long time, notes that North Korea and Iran have long been cooperating in the nuclear field, and that technology that reaches Pyongyang can be assumed to have reached Iran as well.

Langfan recently predicted that Iran will use an EMP bomb to take control of the Shiite-majority areas of eastern Saudi Arabia where almost 100% of Saudi oil is located.

North Korea Executes 80 Citizens

Breitbart.com reports: “The atrocities in North Korea reached another peak on November 3, as roughly 80 people were publicly executed in seven different cities for crimes such as watching films made in South Korea, dealing in pornography or possessing a Bible.

The executions were the first mass executions of the Kim Jong-un regime, according to JoongAng Ilbo. Approximately 10 people were murdered in the cities of Pyongsong in South Pyongan, Wonsan in Kangwon Province, Chongjin in North Hamgyong Province, and Sariwon in North Hwanghae Province.

Wonsan’s executions were carried out by binding a group of people to stakes, putting white sacks over their heads and blasting them to pieces with a machine gun in front of thousands of witnesses at a stadium, among whom were many children. Families of the executed victims were sent to prison camps along with the victim’s accomplices…”
